Some big improvements for my team.

A. Diaz (rfm) 7-2-22-0, S. Done 4 (8b), A. Bajpai 0 (3b)
End of over 29 (3 runs) - Pedagogs(123-5) RR 4.24

Perry's yorker talent just got out Christ who was on 32 and starting to look like the key man. Done is the one who looks most likely to cause us problems with the bat so if we can get him cheaply then things may swing in my favour. From their point of view, the runrate is still high enough that some quick runs at the end could cause us problems.

Edit: Bass just dropped Done off Diaz's bowling. :doh

E. McCosker (rfs) 7-0-20-1, R. Talbot 36 (89b), G. Banks 0 (1b)
End of over 34 (5 runs) - St Agnes (125-5) RR 3.68

That's better, just a few more quickly.

A. Diaz (rfm) 10-2-33-1, S. Done 23 (23b), N. Robertson 0 (1b)
End of over 35 (1 run) - Pedagogs(149-6) RR 4.26

Diaz was getting annoyed as he suffered a 2nd drop off his bowling in the match. Luckily, a couple of balls later and for no extra runs he finally got the wicket he deserved.

38.6 2 Cody to Best : Gently pushed towards cover, away from Fontaine for 2.
38.5.Cody to Best : It's getting feisty out there. Best prods that one back down the track towards Cody who has gathered it up and taken a shy at the stumps. Best was clearly in his crease but has to take evasive action. He's got some strong words for Cody after that. Spicy!
38.4.Cody to Best : [dropped] Best hits it hard in the air towards point. Coombes gets a hand to it but can't quite hold on.
38.3 W Cody to Banks : [catch] Banks has come down the track and tried to hoist that over long on's head, but instead it has gone straight up! Payne has called for it and takes the catch with ease.G. Banks c S. Payne b. L. Cody 3 (14b 0x4 0x6) SR:21.43

Cody feels his pain after missing out on his 5for due to a dropped catch!

P. Callaway (rfs) 5.1-0-24-4, P. Southorn 0 (1b)
End of over 42 (maiden) - Pedagogs(176-10) RR 4.19

Callaway finished things off nicely. 176 is still defendable on slow so we can't afford to throw wickets away.

E. McCosker (rfs) 10-1-24-2, C. Jackowiak 1 (4b), R. Hinton 0 (1b)
End of over 40 (1 run) - St Agnes (141-8) RR 3.52

To

J. Walkley (rm) 9-0-43-0, R. Hinton 13 (17b), C. Jackowiak 26 (30b)
End of over 47 (7 runs) - St Agnes (183-8) RR 3.89

Finally we get the 9th wicket two balls later but that stand has really hurt us!

J. Walkley (rm) 9.5-0-45-1, G. Hutchinson 0 (1b)
End of over 49 (2 runs) - St Agnes (186-10) RR 3.80
48.5 W Walkley to Jackowiak : Jackowiak goes across the line and misses, Walkley appeals his heart out and the umpire just had to give that out. Hitting middle and off no doubt.C. Jackowiak lbw b. J. Walkley 29 (38b 1x4 1x6) SR:76.32
48.4 2 Walkley to Jackowiak : [dropped] Jackowiak's not got onto that as well as he'd hoped. Coombes is out in the deep and it goes down! Oh dear... and if it could get any worse for Walkley there's 2 runs more to the score. :doh

Finally but not an easy chase though.

Ruff Royals won by 1 wicket.

Pedagogs Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 12,910 13,798
Batting - Middle Order 10,810 10,105
Batting - Tail 6,564 4,318
Bowling - Seam 11,615 (30) 11,822 (40)
Bowling - Spin 11,977 (20) 13,115 (10)
Fielding/Keeping 14,863 15,876
Overall 217,968 216,596

We like to make things close by the looks of it. You have to look at the tail batting ratings and wonder how our tail managed to get us over the line.

Our batting started badly:

N. Robertson (rfm) 4-0-11-1, P. Solomon 1 (2b), J. Bass 19 (19b)
End of over 8 (2 runs) - Ruff Royals(35-2). 142 runs required from 42 overs. RR 4.38 RRR 3.38

And when we just started looking like we were getting a partnership together we lost another 2 quick wickets. This time in the space of 5 balls.

A. Bajpai (rm) 4-0-21-1, C. Paton 1 (3b), A. Bowers 0 (2b)
End of over 18 (3 runs) - Ruff Royals(73-4). 104 runs required from 32 overs. RR 4.06 RRR 3.25

Another recovery and then Bowers gets run out going for a 4th run.

S. Lukeman (lws) 6-0-20-0, A. Bowers 26 (37b), C. Paton 23 (34b)
End of over 29 (2 runs) - Ruff Royals(128-4). 49 runs required from 21 overs. RR 4.41 RRR 2.33

Soon after, Paton goes for 28 and it's just our young allrounder and our tailenders needing to somehow get 36 runs. The only good thing is that the RRR is only just over 2. We get to 155-8 and things are looking bad. We manage to reach 173-8 and we're almost there but it's easy to lose a couple of tailend wickets. Diaz then gets out and we still need 4 runs. Thankfully, Perry is there to hit a 2 and then another 2 to earn us the 4 points. Despite our top scorers being Bowers and Solomon both with 29, we make it past their total.

lost the toss and was put into bat on crumbling/cloudy. we didn't bat particularly well, and our 145/10 in 43.5 I thought was sure to lose the game. with 4 wickets in hand and just 10 runs needed with plenty of overs in hand, the opps must have thought they had it in the bag, but our bowlers performed a miracle and we ended up winning by two runs!! a completely unexpected result given how we batted, but we'll take it! gonna be a right slog to try and stay up this season in both leagues, but it's been a great week so far, just the small matter of trying to reach the 5th round of the cup now!!

N. Hatton (lws) 3-0-33-0, A. Clarke 40 (23b), E. McCall 66 (38b)
End of over 13 (9 runs) - Ruff Royals(130-2) RR 10.00

Flat pitch against the side at the foot of the table. Possibly choosing to play on a flat pitch isn't the wisest of choices but I'm still searching for the right pitch to play on with the way my side is currently set up.

I think we'll need to get 200+ and perhaps more than 220.

Clarke just got out for a rapid 70 from 39 balls. I'm pretty happy with how the total is looking.

Excellent innings by McCall who gets a new personal best. He averaged 64.73 in YT20 before today and that was generally on more difficult pitches to bat on so if he keeps playing on flat he might be looking at a great YT20 career average.
