THIRD T20I VS ZIMBABWE

West Indies Clinch Thrilling 5-Run Victory over Zimbabwe in Nat Twenty20 Thriller

In a nerve-shredding finish at a packed Rusterren CG, West Indies held their nerve to secure a dramatic 5-run victory over Zimbabwe in their Nat Twenty20 clash. Defending a modest total of 133, the West Indies bowling attack, spearheaded by clinical spin bowling, dismantled the Zimbabwean lineup just as the hosts looked primed to pull off a stunning lower-order heist.

First Innings: West Indies Squeeze to 133 All Out

After winning the toss and electing to bat on a dry surface that promised plenty of assistance for the spinners, West Indies got off to a steady start. Openers Billy Gray-Nicholls (12) and John Smith (30 off 22) looked to establish a platform, but the introduction of spin completely changed the complexion of the innings.Malusi Gilchrist turned the game on its head with a brilliant spell of leg-spin ($4-0-26-3), picking up three crucial top-order wickets, including a sharp stumping of Reshay Malabre (10). Middle-order batter Andrew Wickham anchored the innings beautifully, fighting a lone battle with a well-made 46 off 38 balls. However, once Wickham fell to Mathew Shaw (3.2-0-21-2) in the 18th over, the tail collapsed rapidly. Brian Malusi ripped through the lower order, picking up 3 for 31 as West Indies were bowled out for 133 on the final ball of their 20 overs.

Second Innings: Zimbabwe Fall Agonizingly Short

Chasing 134, Zimbabwe's reply got off to a rocky start. Left-arm medium-pacer Kairule George struck early by removing Hamilton Baloyi for (6), and Vendol Greene quickly accounted for Pietie Boyle (8). Adam Steenekamp (22) and wicketkeeper-batsman Ngonidzashe Masekela (28) stabilized the innings, but just as Zimbabwe threatened to take control, a disastrous run-out broke the 25-run partnership. What followed was a catastrophic middle-order collapse triggered by the West Indies spinners. Leo Plummer (4-0-26-2) and Karishma Ramharack (4-0-27-2) stifled the runs and took regular wickets, leaving Zimbabwe reeling at 107 for 9 at the end of the 17th over. With 20 runs required off the final two overs, number 7 batsman Mkhuphali Mtyupu launched a heroic counter-attack. Mtyupu blasted a massive six off Vendol Greene in the final over, keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats. With 6 runs needed off the final delivery, Greene managed to nail his line, conceding just a single. Mtyupu remained stranded on a valiant 32 off 29 balls* as Zimbabwe finished on 128 for 9.

FOURTH T20I VS BANGLADESH

The West Indies Innings: A Recovery Effort :-

West Indies captain A. Elliott won the toss and elected to bat on a "Flat" surface, looking to set a daunting total. The decision initially backfired, as the innings faltered early. Within the first two overs, the hosts were reeling at 8/2, having lost H. Peters and B. Jones to T. Aziz and S. Ashraf respectively.

J. Smith provided the necessary stabilization, anchoring the innings with a fluent 55 off 37 deliveries. He found a vital partner in H. Henry, who attacked with a strike rate of 157.69. Their partnership of 68 runs rescued the innings before R. Malabre provided a late flourish with 22* off 14 balls to push the West Indies to 165/6. S. Ashraf and M. Pal were the pick of the Bangladeshi bowlers, claiming two wickets apiece.

The Bangladesh Chase: Tendulkar's Masterclass :-

Facing a required run rate of 8.30, Bangladesh’s chase was anchored by a magnificent performance from skipper R. Tendulkar. After losing A. Mamun early, Tendulkar took control of the middle overs, accumulating 74 runs off 51 balls. His clinical approach ensured that despite the pressure, the required rate remained within reach.

The game entered a critical phase when M. Samad, who contributed a composed 46, was run out by J. Smith in the 18th over. With the game finely balanced and the home crowd at the Moss Emporium roaring, H. Salahuddin (18*) and E. Robin (6*) showed immense composure. They navigated the final overs with precision, steering Bangladesh to 166/4 with only two balls remaining.

FIFTH T20I VS BERMUDA

Bermuda’s Batting Struggle: A Trial by Spin

Bermuda faced a formidable challenge at Beautiful Valley CC, finding it nearly impossible to gain any real traction on a treacherous, crumbling surface. The innings became a gritty battle of survival, as the home side struggled to piece together meaningful partnerships. While Clement Lafroyge heroically anchored the effort with a resilient 44 off 34 balls, the West Indies spin trio—Linden Asgarali, Philern Mason, and Karishma Ramharack—wielded their bowling with surgical precision. Their relentless line and length stifled the scoring, ultimately strangling the Bermuda lineup and restricting them to a total of 118 all out.

West Indies’ Response: A Nail-Biting Deadlock

Chasing 119 for victory, the West Indies innings was a high-stakes struggle characterized by immense pressure and tactical discipline. Despite early breakthroughs from Bermuda’s bowlers, the visitors fought hard to stay in the contest, with Gray- Nicholls providing a steady 38 and A. Elliott anchoring with 31. The match reached an incredible crescendo in the final overs, as both sides traded blows and wickets fell at crucial intervals. Ultimately, the contest proved too tight to separate, resulting in a dramatic, hard-fought tie as the West Indies finished their 20 overs at 118/8, perfectly matching Bermuda’s total.
