With the lot of vibe coding and AI tools around, just curious to know if anybody had tried to develop any AI application to assist the team selection, training allotment for this game. I feel, it shall be interesting if such a applciation is developed inline with one's understanding of the Match Engine.

As an experiment I fed my player stats and the game rules into Perplexity and asked for some linups / match orders. Results were.... interesting
A genuine no11 specialist bowler was put as the opening batter because his experience is high

Then in the summary put:
The Wicketkeeper: Ian Castro is your best bet here. While his keeping is "poor," his massive batting and endurance advantage outweighs using a specialist like Nir Paudel, whose batting would be a liability (Paudel has dreadful keeping)
However they got the right idea around Fillmore, without prompting
Notable Omissions: * Marcus Fillmore: Despite the "Legendary" experience, his skills are "Atrocious." He appears to be a very old player (92!) kept for sentimental reasons or coaching.

If it wasn't for the ethical issues around AI, I'd suggest a friendly competition where we each use AI to choose our orders and tactics and let chaos reign.
