won the toss and had a bowl on hard/sunny. Opps hit a respectable 188/6 in their 20, but we put on a unbeaten 3rd wicket partnership of 178 from 102 balls to win by 8 wickets. Another great win, the only downside being that our best player and captain is now on passable fatigue ahead of a crucial OD game on friday. Hopefully a bit of rest training and he can at least recover to revived :think

A great innings of 90 for Laurence but it only helped us get to 177 on a slow pitch. The bowlers couldn't take enough wickets and couldn't get the run rate under control.

It was Wheeler's last game of his YOD career as he's away on international duty next week. Laurence will also be away which will leave a big hole in my batting line-up which could already do with a bit of strengthening.

won the toss and having a bat on cloudy/crumbling, in all manor of trouble, 19 gone, 61/4. The run rate is ok, just need to stop losing wickets quite so regularly

We lost the toss and they decided to bat first which was okay with me. With three players away on international duty, it should be a tough game (it was going to be tough anyway).

The bowling started quite well then I thought they were going to recover to get a very challenging score but we managed to get them all out for 136. That's still not a definite win in these conditions and it's proving to be very difficult so far as we just lost two quick wickets. These two are my last proper batsmen so it's not looking good.

Chilvers to Whitehead : [runout] Whitehead pushes that one to mid on and sets off immediately. But Liberatore doesn't want the run! Confusion in the middle as both batsmen are left stranded at one end. Chilvers collects the throw from Hurn and simply rolls it down the pitch for Ngidhi to whip off the bails!

A run out when we only need 2.56 an over. :wall

Losing McCall for 0 and Whitehead to that run out were probably the key wickets in what now looks like an inevitable defeat.

lost by 4 wickets: The batting was very poor, 142 all out against a fairly mediocre bowling attack. The only positive is it shouldn't hit our NRR too much, so still in prime position for promotion, but a frustrating performance nonetheless.

My bowling looks a little weak on those match ratings but they did a very good job to keep them down to a total of 128. Zondeki was class with his 2-15 and Bennett was pretty economical, albeit wicketless, for his 0-20.

My batters looked like they were struggling to keep up with the run rate throughout their innings but we just managed to get the win with a couple of balls to spare. Banerjee was particularly good and handled the pressure of needing 12 runs from the last over really well to finish 43 not out from 31 balls.

In news elsewhere, there is a big shock as Danger Hotspurs were defeated by bottom side Scotland Youth to leave us 4 points ahead with 2 games to go. It just goes to show that anything can happen and it wouldn't be unexpected if there was another twist or two in the title race in the coming couple of weeks.

We bowled them out for 25 and something told me that they had played a weaker team than normal. We chased that difficult total down after 3 overs.

It's seems Zippys Rainbow Destroyers have sold up their senior squad. That's baffling to me as they were top of the league with an 8 point lead. They're now 4 points ahead (once the result of Ffoh v Egham goes through) but have effectively thrown away the title unless they change tack and buy up a whole new senior team. They also may struggle to avoid relegation from SOD 1.1 if I can manage 2 wins in the last 3 games (one of which is against them).

our bowlers have been on fire lately in the T20 league, and it was the same again today. Won the toss on cloudy/sticky and had a bowl, and opps were skittled for 85. looked a little scary at 4-58 and 5-68, but Zhiyi hit a couple of boundaries to get us over the line with 1.3 overs remaining.

Guaranteed some prize money now, think promotion is unlikely even if we are level on points with Snakey's, but would be nice to finish top three get a much needed cash injection!
