Netherlands won the toss and batted first in Hard/Hot conditions in the final game of the tour.

We got a wicket off the first ball but it was mostly downhill for us at the Dutch batters scored a dominating 316/9 which turned out to be a great total for them. Polash Sarkar picked up 4 wickets but the pick of the bowlers was Jaydev Gavaskar with figures of 10-0-36-2.

In a carbon copy of the first innings, we also lost a wicket off the first ball, but unlike the first innings most of our batters got starts but they could not stay long enough to score big runs. Peter Parker scored 55 runs and Biplob Hassan top scored for us with 65 runs. We ended up with 246 all out but fortunately this total was enough for us to keep our NRR above both the Netherlands and Pakistan and earn promotion to Division 2 as all 3 of us were tied up 12 points each.

Player of the Day is Jaydev Gavaskar for his economical bowling and he also contributed 25 runs with the bat.

Game 1 was against England is Uneven/Sunny conditions.

England won the toss and batted first. Our bowlers started well and maintained the pressure on their batters, which resulted in us dismissing them for 158 and only 4 of their batters managed to get into double figures. All bowlers contributed with the pick of the bowlers being Liton Aziz with figures of 10-1-32-3.

We suffered a disastrous start to our chase as we lost 3 wickets in the first 6 overs and were down to 62/5 in the 17th over. Debutant Kashem Alam managed to stay at the crease and battle to a crucial 45 run innings which took him 104 balls and contributed to a match winning 82 run partnership with Tamim Mashud, who scored an unbeaten 51 to guide us home for a 4 wicket win after Kashem's dismissal.

Player of the Day goes to Kashem Alam for holding our batting together and guiding us home after the top order collapse.

Game 2 vs Australia, once again conditions were Uneven/Sunny.

Australia won the toss and batted first.

Our bowlers made a fantastic start with 3 wickets in the first 10 overs and even had them at 59/5 at one point. Their lower order then managed to put together a couple of useful partnerships which got them to 167. Once again all bowlers were among the wickets with the pick being Mashrafe Mortaza and Polash Sarkar with 3 wickets each.

Once more we lost an early wicket in the chase, but Zahed Bishwash (61) and Kashem Alam (35) managed a good 99 run partnership for the 2nd wicket and at 110/1 things were looking good for us. What then followed can only be described as one of the worst collapses of all-time in FTP, as we somehow lost our remaining 9 wickets for just 14 runs which resulted in a 43 run loss.

Player of the Day goes to Zahed Bishwash for his 61 in an otherwise low scoring game.

So a total of 2 wins from 5 matches sees us relegate to Division 3 based on our NRR.

We could not finish well this season but the team hopes to bounce back next season and earn qualification for the ODI World Cup.

ODI Division 3 Tour 1 Game 1 was against the USA in Hard/Cloudy conditions.

They won the toss and bowled first, which was a fantastic decision for them as they ran through our top order and the rest of the batting as only a pair of fifties from Zahed Bishwash and Ahmed Shazada (top scored with 60) got us to 184 all out. We had 10 overs still to bat and this came back to bite us.

USA cruised through the chase by going at 6 RPO and only lost 1 wicket.

Player of the Day is shared between Zahed Bishwash and Ahmed Shazada for their 80 run partnership which got us going after losing 3 early wickets.

We played West Indies next in Slow/Sunny conditions.

Won the toss and batted first which initially turned out well as we got a couple of good top order partnerships, but then another collapse occurred and we could not even survive the 50 overs as we were bowled out for 178. None of the batters could build on their starts and Zahed Ashraful top scored with 29.

It was another horror start for us trying to defend as the WI openers made a flying start with a 126 run partnership. Saiful Bishwash and debutant Ifaz Hossain picked up a couple of wickets each to try to stop the WI but our target was simply not enough as we lost by 5 wickets.

Player of the Day goes to Saiful Bishwash for his all-round contribution.

We won the toss and batted first in Game 3 against the Netherlands.

Nothing much went right and we could only manage 198 thanks to a couple of lower order partnerships. Tonoy Shariff top scored with 56.

We did much better with the ball to start and got some early wickets to reduce them to 31/3. 80 run partnership then followed and after that their tired keeper came in and finished things off leaving us with a 6 wicket loss. Liton Aziz was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets.

Player of the Day is Karanveer Srinath for his economical bowling and 31 runs with the bat.

Played Pakistan next on Hard/Cloudy and Riso set the orders for this game.

Won the toss and bowled first.
Pakistan started well with the bat and seemed well set for a big total at 173/2 after just 31 overs.
Our bowlers bounced back well and restricted them to 231 all out.
Liton Aziz and Aftab Shazada took 3 wickets each but in my opinion the pick of our bowlers were the medium Saiful Bishwash and FS Sreesanth Prasad who went at below 3.7 rpo.

Finally something good from our batters even though we lost 2 early wickets. Zahed Bishwash delivered on his potential with a solid 82 from just 87 balls and was well supported by Kashem Alam who scored 73. We were able to win by 6 wickets and get on the points table.

Player of the Day is shared between Zahed Bishwash and Kashem Alam for their 113 run 3rd wicket partnership which won us the game.

Final tour game against Zimbabwe on Hard/Cloudy.

Zimbabwe batters came out swinging and scored at a brisk rate. Spinner Asif Rafique exerted some control with figures of 10-0-53-3 but overall the bowlers were expensive and we conceded 346/9 with Rafique being the pick of the bowlers.

We lost the in-form Zahed Bishwash first ball and were 95/4 at one point. We were also way behind the asking rate but our middle order really stood up with Zahed Ashraful leading the way, scoring an unbeaten 111 from just 99 balls and taking part in two game-turning partnerships, a 155 run partnership for the 5th wicket with Peter Parker (73 from 57 balls), and an unbeaten 97 run partnership with Bulbul Hassan (61 not out from 39 balls).

Player of the Day is Zahed Ashraful for his contribution with runs and taking part in the two game-turning partnerships which won us the game by 5 wickets.

Match Ratings

Bowling - Spin 14,137 (30) 14,160 (20)

Overall 252,919 244,812

We ended up with only 2 wins from 5 and missed out on promotion.
We had the youngest touring squad out of all 18 teams and there were a lot of positives for us, but we are disappointed with missing out on promotion as we got unfortunate during the second and third games, so the goal will be to promote in the next ODI tour.

We will be putting in our maximum effort to achieve this and need all the support we can get.
