Inchigeela Angels won by 6 wickets

Ruff Royals Inchigeela Angels
Batting - Top Order 14,593 14,594
Batting - Middle Order 10,575 12,508
Batting - Tail 4,634 6,062
Bowling - Seam 13,044 (8) 14,785 (12)
Bowling - Spin 13,852 (12) 14,397 (8)
Fielding/Keeping 17,001 17,122
Overall 233,221 251,108

It was a decent effort but slightly disappointing in the end.

We were probably a little short of a good total on a dry pitch despite 50 from Liberatore and 56 not out from Paton. It was looking very good though when we reduced them to 19-3. We struggled from then on and lost with 8 balls to spare.

Dry pitch today and we were put in to bat first.

We did pretty well with the bat to get to 259. Dotson hit 73, Schmidt 64, House 59, and Patterson 44 not out. Bowling was a bit tough to start with but we eventually managed to gain control and bowled them out for 175. Gardiner turned out to be the star with his first 5-wicket haul for the club (5-37).

It was a much needed 4 points as we're only 4 points above the drop. It's a bit of a contrast to how we're doing in YT20!

lost the toss and batted first on cloudy/dry against Spark's men, got 242/7 in our 50. not sure how good that is, seems about par, will be an interesting chase.

I think that's more than par. I thought we were doing well but then we dropped Edouard and he went on to take the game away from my side a bit.

End of over 40 (11 runs) - Ruff Royals(194-6). 49 runs required from 10 overs. RR 4.85 RRR 4.90

Could be an interesting ending. It's all down to whether Paton stays in and whether someone can stay with him. Perry is an allrounder but so was Hodges and he got out for 0.

42.1
W
Guehi to Paton : [catch] A loose delivery from Guehi pitched wide outside the off stump. Paton leans back and cuts hard, ending up with a feather touch and Guaita holds on well to a fairly hard chance.
C. Paton c V. Guaita b. M. Guehi 46 (55b 2x4 1x6) SR:83.64

That's that then.

Huge game next week which is going to be a problem as I've got 2 players who can bat away on international duty.

a great chase from your guys, we just couldn't make enough breakthroughs early on but it was a poor bowling display from us today, especially from departing WC summary spinner Mitchell. And poor in the field as well, lots of misfield's ... just a bad day at the office I think  Camberwell Carrots getting an unexpected win puts some pressure on, hopefully we can close out the season in a mid-table spot! result: lost by 3 wickets:

I did not expect to win once you got Paton out but it was some great batting at the end from Perry. Perry only allowed Roberson to face 6 balls and 2 of those were directly after Paton got out so that's impressive strike farming from my allrounder!

That means the game next week is not quite so important for me although I'd still like another win to ensure safety.

Decent enough score, not sure we have the bowling to defend this at the moment.
