Game 3 vs England in Hard/Humid conditions, won the toss and batted first.

Lost an early wicket but Andrew Embley led the way with a fine 119 off just 116 balls, middle order also got starts and we got a good finish thanks to Maddox Wigley and Luke Shuey as their unbeaten 89 run partnership got us to 330/6.

England also made a fast start and their middle chipped in well, so we were looking in trouble when they were 267/4, however some great death bowling especially by Shawnie Sheahan got us home by the barest of margins, a 4 run win. Maddox Wigley along with Sheahan picked up 3 wickets, and Wigley is the Player of the Day for his aggressive 58 not out and 3 wickets.

Game 4 vs New Zealand in Slow/Humid, lost the toss so NZ sent us in to bat first.

Lost an early wicket but had a good 2nd wicket partnership. NZ bowlers then came back well to prevent any more partnership and picking up regular wickets meant that they dismissed us for 243. Andrew Embley top scored with 83.

We also got an early wicket but then NZ had good partnerships for both the 2nd and 3rd wickets, after which our bowlers made a massive comeback by picking up 7 wickets for just 33 runs, Shawnie Sheahan leading the way with figures of 9.2-27-5 and is our Player of the Day as well.

We had a dominant 8 wicket win against Sri Lanka in Slow/Sunny but we had played our 3 spinners in this game due to fatigue reasons which meant that we had to rely on not getting Dry or Crumbling as the pitch for our semi-final.

Turns out our luck had to eventually run out as we got Dry/Hot as the conditions for the semi-final against South Africa.

Bowlers put in their best effort but SA managed 252 despite Mitchell Johnson picking up 4 wickets which was a good score.
However, we had a century opening partnership in the chase which set up a good platform for us, but then we lost 6 wickets for 50-odd runs and despite the best efforts of Will Schofield, Douggy Trinnick, and Daniel Kerr in the lower orders, we fell short by 23 runs.

Overall we end this term with a T20 World Cup title and a semi-final appearance in the ODI World Cup.

With this my term and time as Australia NAT Manager comes to an end, so I would like to thank all the Aussie supporters for allowing me the opportunity to manage this great side and I would also like to thank all of the assistants that we had, but mainly Drewyface for providing invaluable support throughout the 2 seasons, and I wish the new manager and the team all the best for the next 2 seasons.

Hi all, want to take a minute to thank wmc for a great tenure as Australian manager with a T20 WC title picked up in just his first season!

I am looking forward to the challenge of managing the team again and manage in a very similar style, so don’t expect too much change in approach and hopefully we can build on the great work that’s been done so far.

Will also look to run another Australian community cup tournament, which Sunrise has won previously on all 3 occasions!

Hi all,

Disappointing first tour of the season after winning our first two games of the week and sitting top of the table, we managed to lose three consecutive games and relegate to division 2!

The batsmen performed ok during the week, with several 50s from; Skip Fotia (2),Will Schofield, Andrew Embley and Shaggy McCosker but we had a dismal bowling week from Wednesday onwards.

Failing to bowl out India after having them 4/43 on a crumbling pitch, with only 1 wicket taken by our spinners for the innings set the tone for a disappointing display for the back end of the week. To be topped off with not being able to defend 266 against a dominate West Indian batting display on game 5.

Well done to the UAE team for an outstanding week and well deserved title.

Hoping to bounce back with promotion to division 1 for the upcoming T20 Tour, where we have won hosting rights and hope our Seamers can do some damage!

Thanks to all clubs for lending us their players for the week.

Hey all,

A great tour last week in the SOD tour, promoting straight back up to division 1 with 4 wins for the week.

A strong week for the bats, led by Will Schofield with 2 100's in his 3 games and Jaegar Fuchs with 3 50's from 3 attempts.

A couple of retirements at the end of the week for Dougy Trinnick, Wallace Sheppard and Jaegar Fuchs after some distinguished NAT careers.

On to the T20 WC in a few weeks, thanks for your support and sharing your players this season!

Hey all,

A heart breaking 1 run loss to lose the T20 WC last week - however a very enjoyable week!

Overall, a relatively succesful campaign - relegating from SOD 1 in the first tour, however followed up with consecutive division 2 promotions back into divsion 1 for both T20 and SOD with a runner up medal in the T20 WC.

Appreciate everyone's support in sharing their players last season and hoping for some division 1 trophies for the cabinet this season!
