First game of the tour vs Ireland in Hard/Cloudy conditions as we won the toss and went in to bat first.

A solid opening partnership was followed by a slight wobble in the middle order as we went from 65/0 to 99/4. Shaggy McCosker then joined Gregory Watson and they stitched together a 92 run partnership for the 5th wicket. Luke Shuey then joined Shaggy McCosker and together they formed a game turning partnership of 134 runs and managed to guide us to a good total of 334/6.
Shaggy McCosker top scored with 117 not out, Gregory Watson scored 78, and Luke Shuey scored 61.

Ireland also started well with a good opening partnership and also suffered a slight wobble in the middle order just like us, but unlike our batting they could not form big partnerships as our bowlers did really well to pick up regular wickets and restrict the runs to get them all out for 266, earning us a 70 run win.
Shawnie Sheahan was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 9.2-0-53-5 and Todd Voss provided good support with 3 wickets.

Player of the Day is shared between Shaggy McCosker and Shawnie Sheahan.

I apologize for not being able to post reviews of our other 4 matches, but I will do a summarized version of the overall tour.

After Game 1 we had 2 more Games on Hard pitches, followed by Game 4 on Uneven and Game 5 on Dry.

Game 2 vs New Zealand we won the toss again and opted to bat first.
We scored 367/6 led by centuries from debutants Tyrone Beaumont and Michael Braun.
Had a rough start with the ball but some great death bowling from us brought the game back in our favor and we managed to close things out for a close 11 run win, Maddox Wigley and Shawnie Sheahan picking up 3 wickets each.
Shawnie Sheahan was Player of the Day as his 3 wickets at the death were crucial in swinging the game our way.

Game 3 vs Kenya they won the toss and batted first.
We had a good start with the ball but their middle order rallied well to get them to 311/9. Peter Fleiter was the star with the ball as the wristie got figures of 10-2-28-2 in Hard/Sunny conditions.
Openers gave us a fast start and all batters chipped in with useful runs so we managed to win by 4 wickets. Robbo Dickie top scored with 77 and Player of the Day goes to Peter Fleiter for his outstanding bowling.

Game 4 vs Bermuda we won the toss and opted to bat first.
Lost 3 early wickets but rallied really well to post 287/6, led by 86 not out from Gregory Watson and 65 from Michael Braun.
They had a 93 run opening partnership but after that our bowlers made a good comeback and managed to get them all out for 237, giving us a 50 run win and confirming promotion.
Maddox Wigley was the star with the ball as he picked up 4 wickets, but Player of the Day goes to Orren Barsby for his 3 wickets and 38 runs with the bat.

Game 5 vs West Indies they won the toss and batted first.
Their top order gave them a great start but our death bowling was fantastic yet again as we managed to restrict them from 247/2 to 284/7.
Orren Barsby and Ashley Sampi picked up 3 wickets each.
Opener and captain Robin Greening anchored the chase with a fantastic century, scoring 117 off 119 balls and middle order chipped in as well with useful runs to guide us home to a narrow 2 wicket win.
Player of the Day is shared between Robin Greening and Orren Barsby.

We managed to win 5 out of 5 this tour and earn promotion back to Division 1, thank you all for your support.

T20 tour time next.

Our T20 tour performance was way below-par as we could only manage 6 points which saw us relegated to Division 2.

We did get unlucky against India as we could only tie that game, a win would have seen us survive relegation, but the main reason was that our batting did not show up as middle order kept collapsing in the matches which undid all the hard work that the top order did in giving us good starts.

Focus shifts to the ODI tour where we find ourselves in Division 1 so the aim is to win the title.

Game 1 of the ODI tour saw us face off against Kenya on Slow/Overcast conditions and we won the toss and batted first.

A solid opening partnership was followed by a middle order wobble which saw go from 78/0 to 118/5. Our lower order provided a good rally for us and got us to a good total of 268/7 and special mention goes to the unbeaten 77 run partnership between Luke Shuey and Maddox Wigley. Luke Shuey also top scored with 62 not out and Will Schofield scored 59.

It was an even game in the chase as their top order all got starts so they kept them in the chase and it was not until the death overs where our bowlers then managed to get us ahead and finally close out the innings to get us the win. Orren Barsby was the star with 5 wickets and Shawnie Sheahan also did well to pick up 4 wickets.

Player of the Day goes to Orren Barsby for his 5 wicket haul and 14 runs with the bat.

Game 2 vs India, Overcast/Crumbling, won the toss and batted first.

We had another solid opening partnership, but the overall summary of our batting was that most of the players got starts but no one was able to kick on or even anchor the innings, as a result of which we were dismissed for just 215. Wallace Shepherd top scored with 42.

Bowing saw us make a decent start but we could not build on it as the India batters were able to consolidate with a nice 5th wicket partnership which definitively swung the game their way, and despite a couple of late wickets we ended up losing by 4 wickets.
Debutant Trent Clyde picked up 2 wickets but none of the bowlers really stood out.

Player of the Day is Ashley Sampi for his 31 with the bat and bowling figures of 10-1-39-1.

Match Ratings
India Australia
Batting - Top Order 15,254 15,640
Batting - Middle Order 14,593 15,085
Batting - Tail 8,179 8,193
Bowling - Seam 15,699 (20) 16,017 (20)
Bowling - Spin 15,340 (30) 14,839 (30)
Fielding/Keeping 18,412 18,707
Overall 276,584 280,152

Game 3 vs South Africa, Slow/Overcast, won the toss and batted first.

Lost an early wicket but a 90 run 2nd wicket partnership got things rolling for us after which we had a slight wobble, but middle and lower order were able to get us to a good total of 288/8. Michael Braun top scored with 65.

Their batting followed the same pattern as ours with an early wicket and then a big 2nd wicket partnership. The difference however was that we were able to build on their middle order wobble and swing the game our way. They did however make things a bit interesting with an unbeaten 71 run partnership for the 9th wicket but had too many runs to chase so we were able to win by 32 runs.

All bowlers picked up at least a wicket each with the standout being Luke Shuey for figures of 10-1-38-2 and is also our Player of the Day.

Beat the USA by 60 runs but then suffered a narrow 3 wicket loss to Sri Lanka to finish the tour with 3 wins and 2 losses, which meant that we finish the tour on 2nd place.

Time for the ODI World Cup now, and I also want to announce that I will not be standing for re-election since this was always a one term thing for me, so I would like to thank all the managers that have trained Australia players as well as all the Aussie supporters for supporting us throughout these 2 seasons.
