In a thrilling encounter, New Zealand emerged victorious against the Netherlands in a T20 match by 46 runs. The Netherlands won the toss and elected to bowl first. New Zealand got off to a disastrous start, losing opener M. Berghan for a duck in just the second ball of the innings. They continued to struggle as N. Astle departed soon after, leaving them reeling at 10-2.

However, R. Blackham and Z. Courtney turned the tide with a brilliant partnership. Blackham smashed a scintillating 66 off just 40 balls, including five fours and four sixes. Courtney matched him stroke for stroke, scoring 65 off 46 deliveries, which included three fours and three sixes. Their partnership of 90 runs propelled New Zealand to a formidable total of 201 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs.

The Netherlands' bowlers had a tough time containing the New Zealand batsmen. E. Hertoghs was the pick of the bowlers, taking two wickets for 39 runs in his four overs. S. Alloo, S. Whitlock, and V. Sikkema also chipped in with a wicket each.

J. Ugle-Hagan top-scored for the Netherlands with a well-compiled 50 off 34 balls, including three fours and two sixes. But his efforts weren't enough to turn the tide in their favor. The Netherlands lost wickets at crucial junctures, and their innings eventually folded for 155 runs in 17.4 overs.

T. Southee was the star of the show for New Zealand, wreaking havoc with his fiery pace. He claimed an impressive five-wicket haul, conceding 38 runs in his four overs. S. Finley provided good support, picking up two wickets for 38 runs. K. Ponga also contributed with two crucial wickets.

Despite the loss, there were some notable performances from the Netherlands. J. Ugle-Hagan's half-century and Y. Cohnen's gritty knock of 33 kept the team in the hunt for a while. However, the lack of substantial partnerships and the brilliance of the New Zealand bowlers proved to be their undoing.

Tim Southee's exceptional performance with the ball earned him the well-deserved Man of the Match award.
