tough result for us, i've said it in the discord, but it is worth repeating, absolutely solid stuff in the tour and throughout this term from you lads. my bid for the pitches attempted to make things tougher for your with your limited resources in the seam-bowling department but you've done incredibly well. top class!

August 14th saw the opening game of the tenure of Brunel37 as Manager of Bermuda's National Team, assisted by calcurtis and SaiKrishna they took on the United States of Amercia at Central Broward Regional Park with the home side led by longtime manager Philly.

The conditions were humid and the groundsman had prepared a slow deck, Lloyd called the toss correctly and promptly put the Bermudians in to bat trusting his medium-pace duo of Simmons and Johns to apply some early pressure, which is exactly what they did with Pandarvas and King both departing before the close of the seventh over for 9 and 5 respectively.

Captain Bowring was joined at the crease by the highly experienced Gibbons with the hope of steadying the ship, a 42-run partnership was amassed before Bowring nicked one behind off the bowling of Thompson.

Stapelton-Cotton was dismissed cheaply by Kramer just ahead of the drinks break, leaving the Bermudians 75-4 at the interval. Gibbons continued to chip away at the US bowling attack before a miscommunication with McCall led to him being run out by Johns for 41, a real captains performance given the situation.

McCall and Stuart showed their resolve staying at the crease together for a little over 11 overs scoring 37 runs before Stuart chipped one to Kramer at mid-off allowing Thompson to get his second of the match, just four balls later he would add another trapping Williams leg-before-wicket for a duck.

The tail end batsmen notched up a further 29 runs before Scarlett fell in the 45th over leaving the Bermudians to defend a sub-par score of 153.

After lunch, a seam combination of Groves and Williams opened the bowling dangerously, with the latter taking the wickets of Lloyd, Rose and Moreno in the second over leaving the US 6-3. However, despite the initial glimmer of hope in defending the total it was not meant to be with a 97-run partnership between Moses and House before Moses succumbed to the continued pressure of Scarlett's bowling falling for 54. Harden then joined House at the crease and provided 31 runs along with 22 further runs from House to bring the United States to a comfortable victory after 35.2 overs.

In a closely fought encounter, Bermuda edged past Bangladesh by 5 wickets at the Mirpur Stadium. After winning the toss, Bermuda elected to bowl first and quickly put pressure on Bangladesh’s batting lineup. Despite a resilient 74 from S. Matin, Bangladesh struggled to build partnerships and were bowled out for 164 in 44.4 overs. C. Groves led the Bermuda bowling attack with 4 wickets for 34 runs.

Chasing a modest target of 165, Bermuda faced some early setbacks, but C. Sorzano’s patient 54 off 85 balls steadied the ship. Supported by A. Ince’s unbeaten 28, Bermuda reached the target in 41.3 overs, with 5 wickets down. S. Arman was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, taking 3 wickets for 30 runs, but it wasn't enough to prevent Bermuda from securing a win.
