Game 1 of our T20 tour started 8:00 FTP time yesterday and we have started off the tour well with a 7 wicket win with 5 overs to spare. On a dry wicket our spinners done a great job restricting the Canadian's to 100 with 8 wickets falling to spin and Augustus being the main destroyer with 3/12.
With the bat our boys started off really well knocking off half the score in the first 5 overs, with Dummett seeing us home top scoring with 35*.

Game 2 saw us go down to UAE by 4 wickets but with only 2 balls to spare in tough batting conditions. We posted 96 in our 20 overs with Dummett top scoring again with 37*. Our bowlers done a great job restricting their batsmen and taking it down to the final few balls although not being good enough to close out the innings to get the win.

Match Ratings

Batting - Top Order 9,919 9,572

Game 3 - we lost to Kenya, after sending them in on a slow wicket we allowed them to score a couple probably over par posting 146 although Augustus was our best with 2/17 off his 4 overs. The run chase was a slow one with wickets falling whenever we seemed to want to get a push on and we never looked likely although Rolton was our best with 56*. Leaving us 1-2 on Wednesday.

Game 4 - we went back to a dry wicket and played the Irish. We were sent in and managed to get a reasonable score of 118 although this was a few less than what we would've been hoping for the bowlers pulled one out and kept the opposition to 115 in what was a really good come from behind win. Martin with a run a ball 41 was our best bat and Daniel with 3/21 off his 4 our best bowler including only allowing 7 off the final over of the game. Being 2-2 coming into the last day we needed a win to guarantee staying up or a big win allowing us to potentially promote if results went our way and on the flipside a loss meaning going down to Div 3.

Game 5 - sent in again on the same conditions as the day before we managed a much better total of 151. Amsterdam up top with 45 and the spin spec's Bute (32 off 28) and Gittens (29 off 18) being the main run scorers for the crew. With the ball the opening 10 overs practically sealed the game forcing the RRR to over 10 and the next 5 increasing that RRR to around 15. The end result being a 10 run win. No real major wicket takers but Simpson's 4 overs for 20 runs were massive in the scheme of things.

Overall an encouraging tour finishing 4th with a 3-2 record, staying in Division 2 and also qualifying for the T20 World Cup at end of season!

Had our final One Day tour for the season last week and we had a fairly successful week.

We kick started our tour with a 5 wicket victory against Ireland chasing down 140 after our bowlers done the job with the ball, Ganteaume standing out with 4/17 off his 10 and our captain Browne with his 50* to guide us home.

Game 2 was against the Dutch and once again ended in a 5 wicket victory chasing down their total of 137 with no real stand outs with the bat with all the top 6 getting a start but Ganteaume claiming his 2nd MotM in succession with 3/20 off 9.

Game 3 we played the top dogs in the Aussies and we came ready to give it our all to give us the 3-0 start to the week that every team would crave and we posted a competitive total of 214 with Gittens playing an anchor role ending with 65 and some awesome lower order hitting from Graham with 54(40) turning the game in our favour. With the ball it was Graham (3/18) again standing up bowling economically and then cleaning up at the end of the innings to get his just deserves on his match winning all-round performance. Finishing with a 27-run win and sitting atop of the table at 3-0.

Game 4 and we played the strong and eventual champs the UAE, batting first we knocked up 235 with Amsterdam (80) and Dummett with a run a ball 55 putting us in a decent position to win the game, unfortunately our bowlers decided to have the day off and credit to the UAE bats batted extremely well in challenging conditions ending in a comfortable 6 wicket loss.

Final game of the week left 3 teams the opportunity to take the title depending on their respective results. Once again unfortunately for us we didn't bring our best against the Sri Lankan's, bowling wise we restricted them to 178 which seemed like a gettable total with Augustus and Rattigan both collecting 4 poles each. With the bat it was only Clarke (48) who looked likely with us losing wickets constantly and in clumps and eventually falling 58 runs short.

Overall, finishing 3rd and a 3-2 week is a positive one although with the start to the week we had you wish you kick on and win the title but the biggest thing for our nation is to keep fighting above our weight class and continue the battle in the top division! Sitting 3rd with 32 points on the board and staying in division 1 for the start of season 55 we guarantee a World Cup appearance next season which is exciting to see how far we can go in a tournament environment.

Lastly I want to say a massive thank you to the managers of the players that represented us this season, keep pulling and training those Mudan stars!!

After an extremely successful 7 days at the T20 World Cup, finishing top of the table after going 4-1 in the group stage and knocking off the Kenyan’s in a cracking semi final. We unfortunately fell short in the big one going down by 5 wickets (4 balls to spare) and have come home with silver. Massive congrats to Zimbabwe who handed us both our losses in the week and thoroughly deserved the title!

This concludes my first season at the helm, with a 2nd and 3rd in the One Day tours and now the runner up trophy in the WC we will be pushing hard again this season to try and go one step better. I just want to say a massive thanks to Guru for his mountain of work put in behind the scenes.

Thank you to the managers and supporters of the players that represented us this season, keep pulling and training up those young stars, I’m only a message away for any of your Bermudan needs!
