T20 tour this week guys! We'll be looking to follow up our T20 WC Final appearance and Div1 OD Championship with a promotion back to Division 1 (the seniors are outdoing us here, can't be having that!)

Games are in Zimbabwe starting at 1300 FTP Time
Pitches are very seam heavy; Uneven, Green and Hard in that order

Abu Taymulla (Sydney Cricket Club)

WKs
Idris Aliyy (Hit & Run) LHB
Rafiq Awad (Emirates Academy) RHB

ARs
Malik Ibraheem (Berkshire CCC) LHB, RM
Hussein Saheed (Scott's Tots) RHB, RM

Seam Bowlers
Tawfiq Armanjani (Scott's Tots) RFM
Rayhan Ghayth (Emirates Academy) RF
Misbah Issa (Birds XI) LFM
Ishan Nasri (Hunslet Parkside C.C.) LFM
Malik Sulayman (TTTHG) RF

Spin Bowlers
Salman Mohammad (Hassanites) RFS
Sharad Iqbal (Buggles United) LWS

Congratulations to the managers of Kadeem Alam, Ya'qub Omer, Malik Ibraheem, Tawfiq Armanjani and Ishan Nasri who are making their tour debuts

Many thanks to the managers of Malik Sulayman, Yousif Shadi (ooh that's me), Abu Taymulla and Misbah Issa who will be playing in their final U20 tours (as will Armanjani who is 21.00 already)

We're optimistic of success this tour with our most balanced seam attack I can remember and a solid batting unit. Particularly high hopes rest with Aliyy and Taymulla on the batting side, and Ghayth for the bowlers.

First game starts very soon- we're up against Ireland in Sunny/Uneven conditions.
match 6140330

Fingers crossed this period of success continues!

I. Nasri (lfm) 1-0-10-0, R. Khan 25 (22b), A. Pierre 13 (11b)
End of over 6 (10 runs) - Bermuda U20(41-2) RR 6.83

Had a cracking start with 2 wickets in the first over from Sulayman but Bermuda scoring freely now, need to rein them in a bit

U20 T20 World Cup starts in a few days. The last time around we made it all the way to the final and fell short to a strong Australian side.

We go into this cup a little weaker than we hoped, however it won't be an excuse. We've worked hard to maintain our Div 1 status across the board, so there's no reason we can't perform here as well.

World Cup Fixtures:

v South Africa - Flat
v Australia - Crumbling
v Zimbabwe - Hard
v Kenya - Crumbling
v Sri Lanka - Dry

It’s always great to start a World Cup with a win *cough cough cop that Aaron Finch cough cough*

Match Details
Home South Africa U20
Away UAE U20
Ground west tigers CG
League U-20 T20 World Cup
Date 07 Nov. 22 00:00
Crowd 18,000
Weather Cloudy
Pitch Flat

South Africa U20 UAE U20
Batting - Top Order 9,843 10,412
Batting - Middle Order 9,108 9,123
Batting - Tail 5,180 4,202
Bowling - Seam 9,510 (12) 9,716 (16)
Bowling - Spin 10,387 (8) 10,599 (4)
Fielding/Keeping 11,474 10,712
Overall 175,073 172,348

Result: UAE U20 won by 11 runs
Toss: South Africa U20 won the toss and elected to bowl.
Man of the match: Kamil Abbas (3 points), Emmet McNamara (2), Abdul Qasem (1)

Our batting innings was dominated by a 100+ partnership for the second wicket between opener Kamil Abbas and superstar Abdul Qasem. Kendrick Lamar was off beat today and our total ended at 185 after the 20 overs.

Youngster Alim Ameen lead with the ball and could’ve easily had more than his 2 wickets had our fielders held their chances. Despite Khaleel leaking more than an old tap, our bowlers managed to hold on and bank win number 1.

Around the Grounds:
Kenya beat Zimbabwe by 5 wickets
Set 168 on a hard wicket, Kenya chased down the total with 5 wickets in hand and 3 balls to spare.

Australia beat Sri Lanka by 1 run!
Australia rated a whopping 192,869 (20,000+ more than Sri Lanka) and it came down to a run out on the final ball that stopped Sri Lanka stealing a draw.

Tomorrow we try to catch a tram and probably end up walking to the MCG, where the UAE lads take on the Goliath Australia who are probably still running punishment laps after only limping past Sri Lanka this morning.

Tune in tomorrow 🙏🏻

Good to see you back on the reviews!

Was a fantastic performance from Abbas. We needed him to perform with bat and ball and he did exactly that.

Would be nice to get some revenge on Australia tomorrow.
