Ground Staples015 CG
League U-20 One Day 2
Date 09 Dec. 21 08:00
Crowd 20,000

Result: UAE U20 won by 5 wickets
Toss: UAE U20 won the toss and elected to bowl.
Man of the match: Jonathan David (3 points), Adil Dhul (2), Junaid Fattah (1)

Canada U20 UAE U20
Batting - Top Order 9,544 10,195
Batting - Middle Order 8,256 7,657
Batting - Tail 4,126 4,711
Bowling - Seam 9,413 (30) 9,484 (30)
Bowling - Spin 10,802 (20) 10,592 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 10,172 11,058
Overall 163,938 168,352

Our best:
Adil Dhul - a wonderful hundred! 101 off 111 balls.

Junaid Fattah - 76 unbeaten for the skipper who saw the job done.

Bilal Baha - 68 runs for the opener.

Kale Saheed - 2/60 for the leggie on a rough day for bowlers.

Around the grounds:
Netherlands beat Pakistan by 6 wickets.
Kenya beat Bermuda by 8 wickets.

We currently sit second with our 3 wins.
Netherlands who we play tomorrow are top without a loss.

A win tomorrow will be enough for promotion.

A loss tomorrow would likely see us fall to 3rd with Bermuda and Canada both on 2 wins playing each other.

It’s a simple thing to say but let’s go get the win and get promotion.

We are off to the big dance! That win snags us a promotion and a ticket to the big leagues.

Result: UAE U20 won by 5 wickets
Toss: Netherlands U20 won the toss and elected to bat.
Man of the match: Jabril Kedar (3 points), Simon Whitlock (2), Hana Fawzi (1)

UAE U20 Netherlands U20

Overall 164,871 171,806

Our Best:
Jabril Kedar - 5/31 for the FM.

Hana Fawzi - 1/22 off 6 overs, an unbeaten 30 with the bat and a catch!

Fakhir Shareef - The skipper seeing the job done with an unbeaten 40.

Hassan Lutfi - a well needed consolidating 43 after coming in at 2/7.

Salam Hadi - 2/43 off the quick's 10 overs.

We finish second for the tour, equal on 4 wins but behind on NRR (just).
Bermuda finish 3rd with their 3 wins. Canada 4th with 2 wins. Kenya and Pakistan 5th and 6th with their one win each.

Adil Dhul scored the most runs for us with 199 from 4 innings including a 101.
Fawzi our largest score with his 131.
Baha lead our way with his 4 maximums.
Fattah the most 4s with his 15 (also 3 sixes).

A batters tour with 13 100s. For context, only 3 five fas (2 by UAE Players in Kedar and Hana Fawzi).

Fawzi leading the tour with his 10 wickets, just in front of Kedar with 9.
Fawzi alos had our most maidens with 3 and our best figures with 5/28 (just pipping Kedar's 5/31).
Fawzi's average and economy rate the best of the tour (average 7.5 with an economy rate of 3.15).
Al Coholic had the second best ER and Kedar was third.

Shareef's 3 catches our best and Fawzi's runout our only runout.
Rafi's 4 keeper catches equal second best for the tour, with Ommar's 3 just behind him.
Ommar's stumping one of only 3 for the week (both others by the two Bermudans).

Unsurprisingly, Fawzi lead the Fantasy Points with his 320, just in front of the Dutch Kraaij.
Fawzi and Bermudan Geddes-Hall the only two players to be MotM twice.
Fawzi's 7 votes the best for the tour.

A wonderful tour that allows us a crack at Div 1.

Great work to Heppa and the team. Promotion is no small task and every UAE fan is grateful for your work and time put into securing this promotion. <3

Cheers for the write ups as ever Moose :thumbsup
Chuffed with that tour. Outrated in every game, bar oddly enough the one we lost, but the less said about that batting performance the better
Div 1 for both formats now, couldn't be happier with how the last season and a half has gone

Cheers to all those supporting us and helping turn the squad around :party

Edit tell a lie, we marginally outrated Canada in our win

A brilliant week from our lads. Into Div 1 for both T20 and SOD now. That caps off 20 wins, 2 draws, and 8 losses for the last two seasons :party

Thank you to Penky who set most of the orders this week. I contributed where possible, but was stuck with IRL stuff so couldn't get onto the forums.

We will be contesting the WC in a few weeks. Looking forward to it!

Unless the message I got today reminding me of the World Cup Squad Deadline is lying, we did indeed qualify. Hopefully can be a very successful week for both teams.

Ooooo Boi!

Good thing the FTP gods have lined the world cups up with the week between Christmas and New Years Eve! Everyone knows that for most people that week is a timeless void with 0 responsibility, 5kg of leftover Christmas ham and a ton of cricket.

The senior lads are off to Bangladesh for a T20 World Cup. Games are 0200 (FTP). We’re in Group 1 with the hosts (Bangladesh), Sri Lanka, Netherlands, USA and Bermuda.

The U20 lads are off to the Netherlands for a One Day World Cup. Gamers are 1200 (FTP). We’re in Group 2 with USA, India, South Africa, West Indies and Bangladesh.

Lost the toss and will be bowling first. We really wanted to be batting but hopefully our spinners can keep the runs down!

Hadad and Saheed the main men for us

End of over 25 (10 runs) - India U20(100-4) RR 4.00

Decent effort at drinks, would be nice to get the spin spec Manglorkar soon though!

Very tough result for us first up. After several drops we gave away a little too much - 229. It was very chaseable, but the strength of the Indian bowlers was too much and we copped a beating.

That's the only loss we can afford, so we'll probably need 4 decent upsets from here!
