Re: UAE U20 - News & Discussion
We bowled very well however missed 8 chances. 216 was set for us.
It's probably too much to chase today, however it has also ended our chances of qualifying for the WC. Overall pretty happy with how we went with this squad, a bit more luck could have seen us sneak into a promotion spot. Unfortunately the next two seasons are now all about focusing on the U20 WC in four seasons time, however we will keep working with our players and keep putting out the best squad we can.
Next up is the T20 tour. We're in division two, so we'll be focusing on surviving that.

Yeah those 4 missed opportunities to get maturin much earlier spoiled things for us, though I think the second Ireland won the toss promotion was going to be impossible

For anyone who thinks their fielding is fine for our team... tell them they need to check out this tour. Disaster.

Yeah, that's 23 missed wickets across 5 games from fielding checks, with just 19 checks passed.

Conversely our opponents have had 19 passed wicket checks and missed just 13.

It's incredible that we've actually won two games with those stats.

If we score 217 in 47 overs... we promote. Shame we can't run out the drinks to let them know
Actually hang on Zimbabwe might overtake us both here! RSA need 142 to make sure Canada stay above them (139/9 atm)

Canada got smashed so ended up on +0.071. Had they made 107 (instead of 121) we'd only have needed a win to overtake them on NRR.

Thanks for ruining my night PB. I'll be crying myself to sleep when we lose by 9 runs.

Blimey. I went gung-ho on the orders thinking we'd need a big win to promote

End of over 41 (6 runs) - UAE U20(167-5). 50 runs required from 9 overs. RR 4.07 RRR 5.56
Not that it's gone too horrendously...

Regardless, they wouldn't have scored anywhere near that amount if we took half of our chances.Penky wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 11:53 amBlimey. I went gung-ho on the orders thinking we'd need a big win to promote
