Well, 199 to win. It is below 200 at least.
Now hopefully our batsmen can get them.

think we let them wag a little too much there. Could prove difficult

Very difficult indeed.

Half the side is back in the pavilion.

Bugger

Home Ireland
Away UAE
Ground Cockatoos Cricket Club CG
League Nat One Day 3
Date 19 Oct. 21 16:00
Crowd 17,500
Weather Cloudy
Pitch Slow

Ireland won the toss and elected to bat.

Ireland UAE
Batting - Top Order 15,302 14,616
Batting - Middle Order 13,688 13,882
Batting - Tail 6,820 5,270
Bowling - Seam 15,063 (30) 13,986 (30)
Bowling - Spin 14,250 (20) 14,634 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 17,535 18,170
Overall 262,719 255,542

Man of the match: Tetsuya Naito (3 points), Zaid Abbas (2), Donnacha Byrne (1)

Ireland batted first and set a reasonable target of 199. 4 wickets from Naito and 3 wickets from Abbas did little to slow down Ireland’s batting. 40s from Salah and Jabbar not enough to chase down Ireland’s total.

The match in a tweet: oh yeah that’s what usually happens in international cricket. Win streak of 1 done.

Our best:
Tetsuya Naito - the obb Leggie took 4/45 off his 8 overs.

Zaid Abbas - 3/39 off the mediums 10 overs.

Kamil Salah - 2 catches and 41 with the bat, 3 fours and a six. Also both catches were the same commentary line. Niche.

15.1 W Naito to Stirling : [catch] Short down the leg side, it was close to the body. Stirling looks to pull, gets a glove to it, and it goes straight into the gloves of K. Salah, who takes it gleefully.P. Stirling c K. Salah b. T. Naito 25 (38b 3x4 0x6) SR:65.79

30.4 W Abbas to Ennis : [catch] Short down the leg side, it was close to the body. Ennis looks to pull, gets a glove to it, and it goes straight into the gloves of K. Salah, who takes it gleefully.B. Ennis c K. Salah b. Z. Abbas 35 (62b 4x4 0x6) SR:56.45

Kamal Qassem - 2/25 off 10 overs, 3 of which were maidens.

Possible room for improvement:
20 extras (8 byes, 2 leg byes, 4 wides, 6 no balls)
We would expect the keeping extras to reduce as Salah settles into the National scene and continues to improve.

[Dropped] 3 off these. 2 before we snagged the first breakthrough.

Stirling dropped on 13 and again on 19, makes 25.
Dempsey dropped on 17, makes 37.

If I can maths, those drops cost us 32 runs. We lost by 47…

Around the Grounds:
South Africa beat USA by 4 wickets. Batting first on a dry Didn’t work for the USA.

Pakistan beat the West Indies by 3 wickets.

Only Ireland remain undefeated after two matches. Everyone else has the one win, except USA who are winless.

A look ahead: we take on the West Indies tomorrow in what is now a must win. Tune in at 1600 as both teams look to continue their winning ways.
Just here to contribute a few cracking commentary lines and spend hours on the transfer market.

Overall 253,508 249,995

West Indies won by 126 runs

Man of the match: Vivalyn Hector (3 points), Henry Harragin (2), Cemal Ma'mun (1)

The match in a tweet: win the toss ✔️ bat first ?? score big ?? WIN THE GAME ?? West Indies profit from the ole dry pitch creed - batted first and went large.

Our best:
Cemal Ma’Mun - a patient 60, the only real highlight of our batting.

Amir Alam - 2/47 off his 10 overs

Room for Improvement:
Extras were good today only 8 total.

L Thomas dropped on 44, made 59
Hector dropped on 10, made 79
