Re: Ireland U20 Nats Thread
I had three of my guys picked for the friendly yesterday.
The fastie didn't bowl, the keeper didn't keep and the all-rounder didn't bat or bowl.

Yeah, it was frustrating. 3 wins first up. Then a 1 run loss in game 4. We were still inline for the title …just needed a win in game 5. But Zimbabwe chased at over 7/over for 10-15 overs with just 4 wickets in hand!
We stay in D1 but that title remains elusive.

Ireland chasing a paltry 137 manage to go from 117/3 to a quite respectable 125/10.

Re: Ireland U20 Nats Thread
Been a while since we provided updates out here ...but there are a few things to say today, so here goes:
A) We had a good T20 tour. Three good wins upfront helped us finish No. 2 despite losses in the last two games. We now promote to Division 1. Finally, after a long time, the Irish lads are in Division 1 in both formats. Hope we stay there for a while.
B) If my calculations are right (can't always count on it), we have qualified for the end-of-season world cup too.
C) We have a new addition to the youth management team. Please welcome antikato - manager with Division 1 youth teams in Ireland and New Zealand. Look forward to some fresh thinking in the team that will hopefully help us consolidate on the gains made over the last few seasons.

Thanks!
Been quiet here as I have been terribly caught up with work over the last couple of months. Been only active during the Nat tour weeks.
Big shout out to JFK and Kato for all the effort. Could use a couple of similar assistants for my club teams that are in free fall for now
Good to be back in D1.

Re: Ireland U20 Nats Thread
Ended the season as a Division 1 team in both formats. An all-win OD tour to get into Division 1 was the highlight. The two tours that followed were harrowing experiences with must win games on day-5 to stay up. Got across the line both times.
World cup up next.
Shout out to all managers training Irish players. We have a relatively small pool of good players but there are some very well-trained chaps in there.
