Hi ddraig,

Thanks for suggesting these three players.

In regards to your wicket keeper batsman Archie Baxter I have had him bookmarked for a while now and I’ve been watching his progress and am very pleased with him and think he will be a Scottish national wicket keeper in the very near future. Our current squad has two keepers in it, Luke Baxter and Paul Ferguson who are currently the top two rated 20 year old players in the country and both are outstanding batsmen and outstanding keepers and Ferguson has the added bonus of being a skilled batsman (not that that did him any good on this one day tour). Baxter is in the final week or so of his time with the national squad and we will need to bring in a replacement for him next week. There is another young keeper that I like the look of who is an expert bat and keeper which is a level above your lad in both categories but I do like the fact your boy has the skilled power talent and is still only 19 years old, he has a big future. I would suggest training him as a keeper batsman again after his technique pops as it covers 5 different areas of his development.

Gilbert Roberston (strange spelling I know) looks to be a little bit off the pace as a 20 year old batsman as he is only accomplished overall, he is in good form and being a finisher goes in his favour too. We will have to bring a few new batsmen into the squad next week and I have several bookmarked already, all of them are expert bats and some are still only 19, I will wait until after next Mondays training and form updates before selecting those players.

Cathal Dalglish looks to be a promising young all rounder and being a fast medium that is a skilled bowler as well is a promising start. Training him on bowling technique at the moment is the right move in my opinion, his bowling and fielding are already at reliable and when his technique catches up to reliable that is the level we would be expecting from a possible future national squad member at his age. His experience is in a good spot for an 18 year old at average and I think he will come under strong consideration when that reaches reasonable.

Thanks again for your suggestions to help the Scottish national team, it is always very much appreciated.

Would any of the Scotland crew be interested in my Youth Pull from today:

16y0w | 27,484 rating | $1,250 wage (5% discount)
Right hand batsman | Right arm Medium
Talents Skilled (Technique)
Nationality Scotland Scotland
Form reasonable
Fatigue rested
Experience poor
Captaincy reasonable
Skills Summary
Batsman average
Bowler ordinary
Keeper ordinary
Allrounder ordinary
Skills
Batting reasonable Endurance ordinary
Bowling ordinary Technique ordinary
Keeping ordinary Power average
Fielding ordinary

I don’t really have space to train him, as have a plan in place for my current youth team, and at full training capacity now. What do you guys think. Someone with a high level youth academy to take him on as a future international player?

I’d certainly be interested in him DougyD and both my youth academies are at the top level but I’ve been playing the kids in as many games as I can in both my main and affiliate team for the last season or more so I didn’t receive much prize money at the end the season. It would depend on what you wanted for him but I think he’d make a pretty decent player with plenty of games under his belt.

Was looking for an Allrounder pull today and got this:

16y0w | 23,244 rating | $851 wage (5% discount)
Left hand batsman | Right arm Medium
Talents Accumulator, Skilled (Power)
Nationality Scotland Scotland
Form reasonable
Fatigue rested
Experience poor
Captaincy ordinary
Skills Summary
Batsman ordinary
Bowler ordinary
Keeper poor
Allrounder ordinary
Notes
Skills
Batting ordinary Endurance average
Bowling ordinary Technique average
Keeping poor Power dreadful
Fielding poor

Quite a decent pull for me. Is it best to put on Allrounder training and just leave him there?

I think he’d be better off as just a batsmen imo. Fielding will take awhile to sort and by then he’s to far behind for AR

I agree with Jim, I’d consider making him a pure batsman too. He has the accumulator and skilled power talents which will both add to his batting while he’s at the crease and his fielding and experience need a lot of work to get him up to the level required to get into the national squad. Good luck with him Dougy.

16y0w | 25,395 rating | $918 wage (5% discount)
Left hand batsman | Right arm Medium
Talents Prodigy, Seam Specialist
Nationality Scotland
Form reasonable

Experience dreadful
Captaincy capable

Batting average Endurance ordinary
Bowling dreadful Technique reasonable
Keeping poor Power average

Well it's about time, first good pull in 22 weeks! Only downside is that my Youth team is kind of over-run with left handers. Not complaining though with my favourite batting talent and good starting levels. Not sure if he's potential NAT quality, not great at guessing how far he is between avg and reas batting from the wage.

Plan is Fielding to Reasonable, then hitting Batting to see where he is on that. Will be getting matches reasonably earlier as have a spare space for a batsmen in my youth team.

Easily Nat material with those talents. Will probably get spec primaries depending on how much fielding you give him before 21
