And so the semi-final starts in an hour.

We face a strong Kenyan team, against whom we've only won 25% of our competitive T20 games. Both squads are a little tired, but we're raring to go. The sun is shining, the wicket looks like it'll be a little slow and low, and we're expecting a capacity crowd of 20,000.

Live comments and discussion will be happening on the FTP Discord server!

and we made the final!

For most of the game we were losing. We set an ok total, but Kenya seemed to have everything under control. Then Roberts decided to destroy Kenyan hopes with 3 wickets in the 19th over. Kenya needed 7 off the last over, but Armstrong had other ideas and the USA secured victory by 2 runs.

Now for Canada, who overcame Australia in their semi, in a North American final!

So, the fitness reports are complete, and the team's managers are finalising the final XI for The USA's first NT Cup Final since Season 37, when we triumphed over Sri Lanka in the 50 over format.

We're expecting another nail biter, so make sure you don't miss a single ball of the commentary.

USA WIN T20 WORLD CUP :dance
For the 1st time in FTP, the USA have won the senior T20 WC, overcoming Canada in a close final.
After winning the toss, Canada elected to bat and set 131 in cloudy but dry conditions. Supported by great fielding, the US bowlers kept tight control, and took frequent wickets.
In reply, all US batsmen who batted made it to double figures, but none made it to 20 expect for Glenn Steele. He controlled a perfectly timed chase, recording a personal best 59 (no), and had the joy of striking the winning runs at the start of the 20th over.
Celebrations ensued. :party :hug

Thanks to everyone who has helped contribute to this success against the odds! :hug

I would like to thank whomever that selected my player "Johnny Ryan" for the national team and upcoming U-20 One Day World Cup. He is my first player to be picked for the NT ever.

Good luck in the tournament! I sure will be watching this one! :thumbsup

Well, it went down to the wire, with tension heightened by a technology failure that meant reports from the ground were delayed, but a 10th wicket partnership secured the win against Ireland which means we avoided relegation and get to fight another OD series in the 2nd division.

On behalf of the US NT management team, I wish to apologise unreservedly for the behaviour of the team during the latest OD Tour. Against all expected norms, we got promoted to Division 1. We assume that normal service (relegation to Div 3) will occur in upcoming tours.

A career in toilet roll advertising beckons. I can imagine the taglines you'd use...

"It doesn't matter how well you're doing, more sh1t is on the way"
"Did you enjoy your fancy dinner? In a few hours that'll turn into cr@p"
