So, sadly the national team failed to advance from the group stage in the T20 World Cup. Needing a win in our final group game, our chase seemed to be well under control until we lost 4 wickets in one over.

As the new season starts we'll be looking at the squad, as several of our long-term players are getting a little old. If you have a player you feel we should look at, either post a reply in the thread or send me an in-game message.

I'm back in the game and pulling US players again, so hopefully I can make some kind of positive contribution... :D

Squad Announcement - Tour of Bangladesh – Nat One Day Division 3

The trip to Bangladesh sees a massive 6 players making their senior one day touring debut. Keeper-batter Martinez is the only one of those to have been on a senior tour before but is expected to accumulate several appearances over the coming seasons.

Not only does Michael Scott have two first names but he also has two strings to his bow; he can bat and bowl. Charlie Alexander, whilst having two first names, can only bat.

Our new and electrifying fast bowler, Alfred Barnes, will be look to put in some barnstorming performances. Marvin Garner will be looking to garner some praise for his left-arm wrist spin and add a few runs with the bat too.

We couldn’t be more excited by the final debutant if it was Christian Grey himself but it is actually Corey Gray who, at the tender age of 25, is set to have a long and seductive career with the USA team!

Will this new set of players be the key to dragging us out of division 3? It’s got to happen sometime, right? Right?

Batsmen
Wayne Ashley (Lincolnshire ccc)
Brian Gentry (Caterham Crusaders)
Corey Gray (Spinkings)
Charlie Alexander (Philly_Bluenose)
Craig Hansen (rogue mercenaries)
Francisco Best (Ruff Royals)

Keepers
Pedro Campbell (Rangers 2nd XI)
Ronald Burton (Philly_Bluenose)
Martina Martinez (Asterix & Obelix)

Bowlers

Marshawn Lynch (The Bengals)
Michael Scott (Ashburn CC)

Christopher Campbell (Philly_Bluenose)

Nathaniel Roberts (Philly_Bluenose)
Andre Matthews (Mighty Tigers 2nd XI)

Adam Nixon (amsterdammer)
Adam Glenn (Spooning leads to Forking)
Marvin Garner (The Collywobblers)

Pitches
Crumbling v Zimbabwe
Crumbling v Netherlands
Dry v Bangladesh
Slow v UAE
Dry v Pakistan

Our matches start at 02:00 on 31st January 2022. Feel free to join us watching the game and hurling abuse at the USA players for not getting us out of division 3!

Squad Announcement - Tour of Australia - Nat Twenty20 Division 1

We’re in the top league for the short format of the game! Of course, when I write “short format of the game” I mean 20 overs per innings and not that all players over 6 foot tall are banned from playing.

This tour also sees a couple of veterans returning such as: Roger ‘The Mighty’ Quinn, who may well be finishing his USA career soon; and Ulysses de la Cruz II, who may be nearing the end of his USA journey.

Our hosts Australia decided that their bowlers would prefer to play on dry, crumbling, or slow pitches. Our medium pace duo, Campbell and Hogan, were keen to show what they can do on a slow pitch. Naturally, they were delighted to find out that we are only playing on dry and crumbling pitches.

It’s going to be tough to stay in the top division but then again it wasn’t a million years ago that we actually won the league!

Batsmen
Wayne Ashley (Lincolnshire ccc)
Brian Gentry (Caterham Crusaders)
Ulysses de la Cruz II (Snickets II CC)
Roger Quinn (Covid 19 Warriors)
Charlie Alexander (Philly_Bluenose)
Craig Hansen (rogue mercenaries)
Francisco Best (Ruff Royals)

Keepers
Ronald Burton (Philly_Bluenose)
Martina Martinez (Asterix & Obelix)

Bowlers
Alfred Barnes (Hoarders)

Marshawn Lynch (The Bengals)
Michael Scott (Ashburn CC)

Freddie Hogan (Easier Said Than Run)
Christopher Campbell (Philly_Bluenose)

Nathaniel Roberts (Philly_Bluenose)
Andre Matthews (Mighty Tigers 2nd XI)

Adam Glenn (Terminators)
Marvin Garner (The Collywobblers)

Pitches
Crumbling v Australia
Dry v Bangladesh
Crumbling v Sri Lanka
Dry v England
Crumbling v India

Our matches start at 00:00 on 21st February 2022. Cheer on the good ol’ USA in the heady heights of division 1!

A tough start to this week's T20 tour in the top division. Close defeats in the first 2 games means, we'll need to win at least 2 of the final games to retain Div 1 status, which is far from impossible. Fingers crossed for a win against Sri Lanka in Game 3.

Well, what an amazing end to the tour. Having lost the 1st 3 games, the US re-grouped to beat England and India, thereby avoiding relegation and maintaining their top tier status. :clap :party 8)

Squad Announcement – Nat One Day Division 3

We enjoyed our time in Australia for the T20s as we finished 2nd in division 1. Now we are off to India. Thought to be the country of origin for the game Snakes and Ladders, India, is the place where we need to start our climb up the divisions. There are couple of players on the first rung of their senior international career ladder too. Frank Fowler is set to make his tour debut at the age of 26 as a batsman with plenty of promise. Terry Ball has also turned 26 and was rewarded with a first senior tour call-up. The left arm wrist spinner is thought of highly and is eventually expected to be a fixture in the side for a long time to come. Are these youngsters ready to face the rigours of international cricket? Can we finally gain promotion out of division 3? Will any international team ever choose pitches other than dry, crumbling, and slow again?

Batsmen
Wayne Ashley (DISHKYOMM!)
Brian Gentry (Caterham Crusaders)

Well, a good win against Bangladesh. Put in to bat, we set a challenging total, with an excellent century from Alexander forming the backbone. The bowlers, supported by some good fielding, completed a 32 run win.

Game 2 is against a strong England squad. Fingers crossed for a good result.

Tour of Scotland: Squad Announcement – A New Hope

A long time ago, in a dimension far, far removed from this one…

The USA has been promoted from division 3 and look set to qualify for the World Cup in some style. Some are even claiming they will be favourites to lift the prestigious trophy.

Meanwhile, in this dimension and in the coming week the USA, sadly, have to return to reality and will once again be battling to end our stay in the bottom tier. Rumour has it that the USA management team have enlisted the help of scientists to create an interdimensional device to bring the USA cricketers from the above mentioned dimension to this one. In completely unconnected news, there are some new faces in the squad. We welcome Juan Ashley, aged 26, to the touring party alongside fellow batter Max Ayala. The Man Of Steel, Glenn Steele, joins as keeper and we expect to see his superstrength help propel the ball to the boundary on many occasions. Fastie Anthony Armstrong, wristie Tony D’Amico, and ashie Ashton Ashley make up the remaining newbies.

Batsmen
Corey Gray (Spinkings)
Charlie Alexander (Philly_Bluenose)
Juan Ashley (Central Coast Dolphins)
Max Ayala (Woodchester XI)
