Not the worst start to our bowling on a flat pitch. We missed running out De Gans and he could easily go on to make a century.
Hopefully, De Gans will continue to run out his partners.

Well, he was involved in a 3rd runout and then ran out of partners. A nice win, but can we convert these friendly wins into the league?

Let's hope so. It's not always easy to see if performances are due to things working out for us or because other teams have been experimenting and it hasn't worked out for them. Shields has done well again with the bat and Fletcher with the ball. Also thought Harvey put in an improved performance with the bat and Gallegos was better with the ball too.

USA won by 43 runs. (That's the second 43 run victory in a row).

USA Netherlands
Batting - Top Order 15,264 15,548
Batting - Middle Order 12,057 12,540
Batting - Tail 4,877 5,111
Bowling - Seam 15,116 (20) 13,949 (40)
Bowling - Spin 14,246 (30) 14,634 (10)
Fielding/Keeping 16,976 17,975

Home USA
Away Sri Lanka
Ground Central Broward Regional Park
Match Nat One Day Friendly
Date 02 May 20 13:00
Crowd 13,230
Weather Humid
Pitch Slow

We're batting first and it couldn't have got to a worse start. We lost 2 wickets in the first 2 balls of the game. 3 ducks in the game so far with Stevenson adding to Simpson and Kirk's. There has been some recovery with keeper Bowers scoring 53 before getting out. Richardson is still there and has his half-century.

M. Ajireen (lws) 7-1-23-0, J. Richardson 51 (105b), K. Estrada 9 (11b)
End of over 37 (4 runs) - USA(141-5) RR 3.81

Some players not exactly helping their hopes of touring.

End of over 50 (3 runs) - USA(222-8) RR 4.44

Not a great score but it could have been worse and it is defendable. A very good century by Richardson.

End of over 15 (2 runs) - Sri Lanka(57-4). 166 runs required from 35 overs. RR 3.80 RRR 4.74

Good bowling so far. Estrada with 3 wickets and Barnes with 1.

Yeah, needed a bit more from Pugh with the ball and perhaps a couple of the other bowlers as well. Three batters getting ducks certainly didn't help.

And it's time for the first tour of the season. Today's game sees competitive debuts for batters, Shields and Richardson. :clap

For this week, just assume the conditions are dry/sunny; I'll mention when that isn't the case. I'll only catch the first hour but it's been a decent start so far.

S. Garcia (rf) 2-0-8-1, H. Corbie 4 (8b), D. Manbodhe 6 (9b)
End of over 3 (2 runs) - Bermuda(10-1) RR 3.33

R. Barnes (rfs) 2-0-5-0, R. Davis 7 (20b), F. Elliott 34 (43b)
End of over 17 (4 runs) - Bermuda(62-3) RR 3.65

It's going ok but Davis has been dropped and the spinners have yet to take a wicket.

A 50 run opening partnership @6.75/over is a great start, chasing 218 for a win. Interestingly, we've not hit a boundary yet.

Now Kirk has run himself out, going for an unnecessary second run. 57-1 off 9 overs.

M. Pugh (rf) 3-0-20-0, A. Ridley 13 (10b), K. Tahir 14 (20b)
End of over 5 (4 runs) - Zimbabwe(31-0) RR 6.20

Not a great start but still time to turn it around. We need Pugh to either be a bit more economical or get some wickets.

K. Estrada (rm) 6-0-32-1, K. Tahir 60 (83b), B. Pettinger 2 (5b)
End of over 23 (10 runs) - Zimbabwe(109-2) RR 4.74

It's tough going and we could do with a couple more wickets before the break really.
