So I used to play this game back in probably 2010-2012, when I had a reliable/reliable medium pacer in the USA national team. Seems like the game has both changed not at all and a lot since then!

Presumably I’m best off selling this guy? I’d love to keep him because I enjoy developing players most, but only 4 weeks back into playing my academy isn’t good enough to get him to anything that’s competitive anymore. What would be a reasonable reserve price?

He's going to be an amazing player, I reckon! I'm probably not the best person to give advice on what the transfer market is going to do and it can be very inconsistent. I'd start with a highish reserve. I'd like to think he'd go for 500k+ (maybe even a 1 million?) but people might be put off by the experience. The power is great though.
