I know i've found this information previously but I can't remember where, could someone please direct me to where it talks about strength training and what age players benefit the most from it.

If a player is 20 years and 14 weeks, will his next training session be as a 20 year old in the youth academy or as a 21 year old in the senior academy?

He should tick over before Monday training so he will be a senior.

I’ve seen this mentioned on a few YP threads and not sure if I’ve missed it in the game manual… but how do you work out ‘spare ratings’ on a player?

I assume each skill is attributed to a numerical value (that ends in 0) and if your players rating value is past a multiple of the 0 number it can help you work out how close one of those skills might be to increasing?
You're right on the first part.

Essentially every level past dreadful is worth 1000 points. Simply put:

Atrocious: Up to 500
Dreadful: 501-1000
Poor: 1001-2000
Ordinary: 2001-3000 and so on.

Take your total ratings points. Assign values to each of your 7 trainable skills (from batting to fielding. Captaincy and experience do not count). Combine those, take away from total ratings.

16y1w | 24,393 rating | $896 wage (5% discount)

Right hand batsman | Right arm Finger spin

Talents Gifted (Technique), Finisher
Nationality Sri Lanka Sri Lanka
Form reasonable
Fatigue rested
Experience poor
Captaincy reliable
Skills Summary
Batsman poor
Bowler ordinary
Keeper ordinary
Allrounder ordinary
Notes

Skills
Batting ordinary Endurance ordinary
Bowling average Technique poor
Keeping ordinary Power poor
Fielding average

From left to right and going down:

3000
3000
4000
2000
3000
2000
4000
21,000

So my player has 3,000 spare ratings. He just popped fielding so not likely to have anything on that skill.
