Nice work PowerBug! :)

Definitely agree the NATs deserve more attention. Think you've hit the nail on the head with your first post. As said by a couple of managers, I'd be happy to contribute with some info if you need.

Took a while sorry, but the first post is up now. Would love to hear some thoughts and obviously any additions people have. I'll either embed quotes into the paragraphs or I'll post them at the bottom of the post so they're also not lost in this forum thread.

The first one is a bit tedious and the least fun, but it's the most important. Once you're in, the fun really starts :)
good reading,is there going to be more?
Yes :) Just been a busy period lately :(

Find an assistant or 2, it doesn't have to be a solo effort....
With that done, how about someone remind ALL the Nat managers of their code of conduct. Once they start adhering to that more managers will get involved.
For instance in my country the respective nat managers have been totally silent for seasons.
The last u20 election saw a new manager with an assistant for a few weeks before the assistant got excluded. The assistant (devi) was doing well interacting on the forum gaining support only to get ghosted and the staleness of one man international cricket management return.
At the moment it feels more like the international players represent the manager more so than their country.

And Part 3. It's amazing what a bit of motivation can do.

Part 2 could have more to it, I think, any ideas? I'll look to integrate the good comments. Any questions?

Maybe in Part 2, you could get more into the nitty/gritty "dark arts" part.
For example you blanked out "banked points" and then didn't mention it in the description, one wonders why.
Details like this might help players realize that being NAT manager has extra game features and is not just like having an extra team.

Oh yes I need to talk about banked points well spotted :)

Hidden it because our rivals don’t need to know how many are there but I should still talk about it

Thanks :) Hopefully it makes sense to people from the outside looking at it for the first time as that is who I want it to appeal to :)

It wont make any sense until its finished.
Time to give this another bump along.
This may sound a bit critical but I think it needs to be said.
This guide was started over 12 months ago (3 ftp seasons) and looks like it may take just as long again to be completed. The guide may be very useful when completed.
You've also been steering the ship for UAE for many many seasons as manager and done a good job. Perhaps it's time to step aside from that role and let some newer managers have a crack.
You have had the role of npd for a lot longer and this guide is probably your best project to date. However, new players are still being left waiting in the forum for assistance. The resource material that could help new managers develop their own clubs is not easily available to them. There are charts and information scattered in the forums which a new player would have trouble locating.
It's an underrated position you have that could really have a big positive effect on manager retention.
Good luck with the world cup. I hope you continue this guide aswell. I think it's good.

Thanks for the kick up the arse mate :) You are correct that an un-finished product doesn't help anyone.

NAT duties now decreased, will start putting time back into this <3

It really will be good if you are able to get this completed. Brunel37 and MOD-wmchamps have been contacting new and old managers with no Nats experience and there is now a growing list of managers wishing to find out more and get involved.

Really? Why just keep saying one thing and doing another?
When you started this many seasons ago other managers were keen to assist you with this. It could have been completed within a few weeks and been of benefit to many
This post was started around the same time (it may have influenced a few to give it a go) that newer players were expressing an interest and getting involved in both junior and senior Nat manager roles and a guide such as this one would be really useful right now.

It was there to motivate me to get this done. We aren't all perfect humans and motivation comes and goes, we all would've had similar instances with various parts of our lives. I can only apologise and hope you understand.

There has been comments come through from other managers and I have appreciated that help. This is mostly on me, however I will quickly ask, as someone who was heavily invested in this going up nothing was stopping you from contributing :)

--------------------

I am hoping now that you can look at the posts in place and see what I would call an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) if this was my job. So, not a finished piece, but something which covers all areas and for the most part does the job I set out to achieve. We've had discussions amongst the admin team and as collective agreed that there was some motivation and accountability (in relation to doing tasks) that could be improved upon. My honest belief is you will slowly start improvement across the board as we stay in communication with each other more consistently, and work as a team with directives, goals and targets in place.

Back to this specifically, I look forward to any feedback and additions in relation to this little piece which has been put together. I thank you for the patience. Now it's time to spend a week focusing on assisting and supporting the UAE as we look to break that damn WC hoodoo :wall

Thank you very much for making the effort to complete this, I am sure many others will appreciate it too. I had no contributions as I do not have the experience. This is my first senior term and I had 2 terms in U19's about 20 seasons ago. There are a few more like yourself who have a lot more experience to share than I do.
Once again, thank you for completing this. I am sure it will be more useful now.
