just pulled this bloke today, and seeing that there are no threads for youth pulls, thought that i might as well post where it's most likely to be seen. let me know how you want him trained (batsman, bowler, AR, keeper). he'll be on fielding for the season.
He could be anything.
I don't know what area the current 16yos are lacking, but I would train what your club needs most.
If you have a high level youth academy, I would make good use of it and go AR otherwise it would be a keeper or just a rm bowler with some batting.

Looks a great player! I can only agree with the above from Turbz, go with whatever work best for you. If I had to say then an AR would be great if academy level allows. I'm sure we wouldn't say no to a great keeper or bowler with reas or so batting either. Good luck with him whatever you choose.

The upcoming Senior One Day tour starts 7th December and with that in mind I have been trialling younger players and different line ups in the friendly games with limited success.

Some of the current squad members will be facing their final tour as they will need to step aside for some younger players to progress, however this will be done with natural evolution rather than an all at once revolution and as I look forward to selecting the 18 man touring party I have in my mind the players who will be retiring from the National scene, I have, however already begun the process and promoted three new batsmen to the squad.

I will announce the touring party on Sunday once the deadline passes and let you know who will be touring, we have already qualified, but I would like to see us win some games obviously and I endeavour to do my best as ever with the tactics selected on what will be some challenging pitches.

Tomorrow’s friendly against Canada will be an interesting affair in windy conditions on a slow pitch, I am still working out my batting line up and have also selected a couple of players who haven’t played that many National games, so it will be nice to see how they do.

Hi all,

Well its been a very good and extremely satisfying start to the National One Day Tour!

Day One West Indies v Bangladesh Windy-Sticky

Monday's game against West Indies saw the Tigers emerge victorious by 17 runs! Having won the toss we elected to bat
and posted a decent score of 181. Top scorer was Gony with 33. In reply West Indies made a good start but came up short, stand out bowler for us was wrist spinner Mabud taking 4-34 off 9 overs.

Match Ratings
West Indies Bangladesh
Batting- Top Order 15,597 - 13,679
Batting -Middle Order 12,788 - 13,658

Bowling -Spin 15,083 ( 20 ) - 15,065 ( 20 )
Fielding/Keeping 18,540 - 17,292
Overall 265,210 - 252,494

Day 2 England v Bangladesh Cloudy-Sticky

In today's game we lost the toss call and England decided to bat, a very good decision usually given the conditions!

At this point I need to say that I received some outstanding advice from Turbz regarding batting line up and bowling orders for which I believe were instrumental in us winning today's game, this is precisely why you have assistants at National level, who you can trust and who can give sound advice and knowledge when needed. So thanks where its due today!

England made a reasonable start but were kept in check for most of their innings by some good tight bowling, they batted their full 50 overs and we
restricted them to 168-8 after 50 overs. Stand out bowler S Taher with a fine haul of 3-23 off his 10 overs. The decision to play 4 seam bowlers and 1 spinner was fabulous and worked really well. Our reply was top class, Gony making 32 Sharma 36 and Gupta 43 making the sticky conditions look like an easy surface to bat on. We reached our target and made 171-5 off 42.5 overs.

A really superb 5 wicket win, and I am very happy this evening.

Season 49 - Bangladesh Senior NT Tour Summary

Date: 08 Nov 2021 - 12 Nov 2021
Competition: Nat Twenty20 Division 1
Results: Wins = 4, Ties = 0, Loss = 1

Our first, and only, T20 tour of the season saw us taking on some of the FTP powerhouse nations in Division 1. Having survived in the top tier last season, we were already assured of a place at the T20 World Cup at the end of the year but this tour was about attempting to maintain our top division status moving forward. We were up against Australia, England, Sri Lanka and New Zealand as well as last year's One Day World Cup winners, the Netherlands.

Our inexperienced squad featured a quartet of T20 international debutants as well as a host of players who had represented their country less than ten times in the shorter format. We got off to a great start with a solid victory against Sri Lanka on opening day thanks to a well constructed run chase marshalled by Ambathi Binny’s superb 67*. We followed this win with a remarkable victory over Australia which featured some exceptional death bowling and a trio of wickets for Amit Tendulkar on his full international debut. The third game saw another superb bowling performance and a third win, this time against New Zealand. We made it four wins in four when we comfortably chased a total of 102 against England. Our final feature saw us take on Netherlands, a side I have struggled to beat over the past few seasons - most recently losing to them in a World Cup final. We had a terrible time with the bat and suffered a disappointing defeat; a loss that ultimately meant we missed out on a Division 1 title, losing out on net run rate to Australia who also won four games.

A really great week ended with a bit of a whimper but I have to be happy with what we achieved. Maintaining our status in Division 1 was exactly the outcome I wanted from this week and we showed that we can mix it with some of the best sides in the game despite our clear skill disadvantage.

The bowling performances were, as they have been since I took over, something to be fairly happy with. The pitch selection for this week meant that it was always going to be a bowler friendly week and that certainly proved to be the case with a number of batters struggling. In fact, only two batters surpassed 100 total runs across the entire week but, with that being said, we performed admirably with the bat right up until the disaster of the last game against my new arch-nemesis, the Netherlands, where we slipped from 42-2 to 68 all out.

Unsurprisingly, given the excellent team efforts this week there were quite a few deserving individual players to select as top performers. These are the choices I ultimately decided to go with:

Key Performers:

Batters:
Ambathi Binny (3 games; 95 runs @ 47.50 runs/game, High Score 67*)
Ambathi Binny is one of the most naturally gifted players to come through the Bangladesh national team ranks in recent seasons but some might say he has never quite lived up to the hype. Now 28, Binny proved this tour that he is one of our finest players. In the opening fixture, against Sri Lanka, we found ourselves chasing a challenging total of 132 on a crumbling wicket. Binny, opening the batting, proceeded to score a superb unbeaten 67. The innings included five boundaries and was one that meant we easily reached the desired target with two overs to spare. He also proved his prowess as one of the nations best fielders, adding a catch and a direct hit run-out as part of his man of the match performance in the opening fixture.

Ersan Ilyasova (3 games; 81 runs @ 27.00 runs/game, High Score 53)
Ilyasova found himself omitted from the entire squad earlier this season in a shock move from manager Brunel. Recalled for this T20 tour, the 29 year old proved that he still has life left at international level as he was one of very few players, who managed to reach double figures in every innings this tour. His highlight moment came against New Zealand when, opening the batting, he scored a gritty 53 - a knock that was his first ever international fifty and one that laid the foundations for another victory.

Bowlers:
Amit Tendulkar (3 games; 8 wickets @ 6.62, best 3-13, 4.68 economy)
Tendulkar, who was a surprise inclusion in the T20 squad having not played an international game before, had a brilliant debut tour. The right arm fast seamer was absolutely superb and claimed the second most wickets in the division. He picked up three wickets on his debut against Australia and then recorded the best Bangladesh figures of the week when he took 3-13 against the Netherlands. A late bloomer, who recently turned 29, might be one to watch with the upcoming One Day tour squad announcement looming.

Saeed Das (3 games; 6 wickets @ 11.00, best 3-22, 5.50 economy)
Das, who has become one of the most experienced bowlers in the squad following some recent veteran retirements, had a great tour and highlighted again his prowess with the new ball in hand. The medium pacer claimed a wicket in all three games that he appeared in and his career best 3-22 against England saw him dismiss both openers as well as their number three. He was misly with regards to conceding runs and his figures of 4-1-14-1 against Australia was a big reason that we were able to defend such a low total.

Milestones:
Amit Uthappa - 300 Nat T20 runs.
It was not the greatest tour for Uthappa but he did surpass 300 T20 runs this week. The veteran bat achieved this feat in his 15th T20 appearance and became the 45th Bangladesh player to surpass this milestone.

Sanjeev Khanolkar- 15 Nat T20 wickets.
The right arm wrist spinner claimed his 15th One Day international wicket during this tour. The 31 year old managed this during the game against England when he claimed 3-22, the third time he had collected an international T20 three wicket haul in his career. His 16 international T20 wickets have come at an average of 18.69.

Saeed Das - 15 Nat T20 wickets.
Das claimed six wickets this tour and that took his international T20 total up to 15. The new ball specialist medium pacer achieved the feat in just his 11th game with each wicket coming at an average of 18.80.

Satish Durani - 15 Nat T20 wickets.
The aging all-rounder is entering the twilight years of his career but he also managed to collect his 15th international T20 wicket this week. His four wickets this tour took his total to 15, claimed at an average of 19.20.

All in all this was an extremely pleasing tour for me, especially given the fact we were up against some of the highest rating nations in the game. We avoided relegation and cemented our status as a Division 1 T20 side which will no doubt leave the squad in high spirits ahead of the T20 World Cup due to take place at the end of this season.

We have a few friendly games to come over the next few weeks and then we will be setting our sights on the final One Day tour of the season. We have everything to play for in the longer format as we attempt to get one step closer to World Cup qualification.

Bangladesh Cricket Re-Set

The past few seasons have seen a steady decline in performances at the international level and, unfortunately, this has led to us now featuring in Division 3 for both One Day and T20 leagues. This is a huge fall from grace for a side that played a World Cup final fairly recently but, mainly due to a lack of seam bowlers and batsmen lacking in-game talents, we have found ourselves being out-rated and outplayed on a regular basis.

This has led to the management side, including myself, to rethink the squad and has led to a bit of a re-set. We now have one of the youngest national team squads, with only four players aged over 30, and the aim is to develop the younger players on the big stage and, hopefully, in a few seasons return to the regular World Cup appearing side that we were known as.

The first tour for this re-set is starting today and, of all 16 international senior sides, we named the squad with the youngest average age. We are in a nightmare Division 3 group consisting of the powerhouse nation that is Australia, a resurgent UAE side, Kenya, USA and Pakistan.

Please do follow along as we attempt to restore Bangladesh to what it once was and hopefully this journey will have a happy ending...

Game 1 vs Kenya (Hard Pitch, Hot Weather)

Our first game in the Division 3 tour and the one that marked the start of the Bangladesh cricket re-set saw us take on a solid Kenyan side. We unfortunately lost the toss but Kenya opted to bowl despite the conditions looking to favour the batters. If you have followed any Bangladesh cricket as of late you will be aware that our batting performances have been far from effective but today marked a huge improvement.
One day debutant, Ashok Dhoni (Sitakunda Leopards) and Fahim Talukhdar (Ashburn CC) blasted out of the gates and put on 118 for the first wicket inside just 16 overs. Both openers scored half centuries and both raced to career best international OD scores; Dhoni with 64 and Talukhdar 71. A few wickets fell in the middle overs but captain Vinay Srivastav (Sitakunda Leopards) smashed another career best, 77, as he tacked on valuable runs with the lower order. When all was said and done The Tigers had amassed a mammoth 328-8, their 12th highest OD total in history.

It proved far too much for Kenya to chase and, despite a quick-fire start, wickets tumbled at regular intervals with young seamers Rajesh Kapoor (One Man Rock Band) and Polash Sarkar (Caradon CC) both returning career best figures. Kapoor registered 4-57 in his 10 overs, which included a stunning clean bowled wicket of the dangerous Hank de Ranger. Kenya eventually ended their chase 215 all-out and Bangladesh ended up winning by 113 runs, a margin that was enough to see the side end day one atop the Division 3 table.

Bangladesh won (vs Kenya) by 113 runs

Tune in tomorrow when we take on a USA side looking to avenge an opening day defeat against Pakistan.

Game 2 vs USA (Hard Pitch, Humid Weather)

After a resounding victory over Kenya in our opener yesterday we came up against a resilient American side today. The humid weather and a five-man seam attack saw us opt to bowl first and, early on this decision seemed to be a good one. We had the USA 114-6 just after drinks and visions of chasing a low total were seemingly a reality. Unfortunately these did not materialise and an improbable 120 run partnership for the seventh wicket ensued, with the USA closing on 256-8 from their 50 overs. It was a disappointing end result following a magnificent start and unfortunately it proved to be too big a total. All-rounder Saiful Bishwash, who was making his One Day international debut recorded the best figures of the innings, finishing with 3-57.

In reply, the loss of wickets at regular intervals dented any hopes of a miraculous chase, with only two batters surpassing thirty. Captain Zahed Ashraful, who might have been ruing his decision to bowl first, top scored with 39; his highest One Day score to date, as we limped to a total of 161 all out in reply.

Bangladesh lost (vs USA) by 95 runs

A disappointing end result following the highs of yesterday. Tomorrow we take on a Pakistan side who have won their first two group games thus far.

Hi

Apologies if this is the wrong thread for this request. Thinking of selling this guy at the EOS. He's a former Bangladesh youth international and was wondering if he had any chance of getting a senior cap?

Hi,

The current spinners in the national squad are currently better than this player (wclas bowl, wclas tech, excep field) or are younger (27-28yo) with similar skills or have more batting, so Razzak will just miss making the national squad.

There will likely be a few retirements to spinners before the next tour in 7 weeks as they are now 31. And since Razzak will be 30 himself, younger spinners will be added to the squad.

Thanks,
Turbz

OK, thanks. Just wanted to check I wasn't potentially missing out on NATS money by sticking him on the TM.
