Hi all, happy to report another good result today, and a reversal in fortune.

After losing the toss we were put in to bat by NZ on Overcast/Sticky. Losing a wicket early was to be expected, but we got to 90-2 after 23, not a bad start considering the conditions, Wijetunge steady with 41(69). Unfortunately, our next 7 wickets fell for 52 runs to take us to 142-9 and staring at a low chase. Enter the unlikeliest of heroes in Aboobucker and Ingram, who put on a last wicket stand of 41 runs, finishing with 20(36) and 21(28) respectively. A total of 183 seemed pretty healthy in the conditions.

Having the overcast conditions helped us so much in the NZ innings, all the seamers with low economies and picking up wickets, Aboobucker's left arm spin balancing it all out with figures of 9.5-1-31-3. Ranasinghe starred again in friendly conditions with 9-0-24-3, with Pushpakumara taking the wicket which sparked NZ's collapse from 96-5 to 113 ao.

We have Canada tomorrow on Slow/Cloudy, with a win securing promotion.

Hi all,

Delighted to be able to report a victory in our final match, securing promotion. Since the second OD tour last season we've secured back-to-back promotions and won 8 of our last 10 games. Feels good to reverse going Div 1 to Div 3.

Winning the toss against Canada we bat first and made a way, way above par score of 289. Ganegama carrying his bat and scoring 136(146), 91 runs coming of the final 10 overs.

Chasing a total like that on slow is always going to be challenging, and we reduced Canada to 111-7 before a 8th wicket partnership of 100 dragged them to a respectable score. Ganegama removed Bolton with a well-timed runout, and the last 3 wickets fell for 8 runs, taking them to a total of 219. Mirzaa (9.2-1-52-3) and L. Masmulla (10-1-41-3) were the pick of the bowlers.

So, very succesful first tour, and we move on the the T20s. Looking at the rankings I think we're going to need to win all our games to make the WC, which we'll give a good go of.

Thanks to Chezz for his consistent advice, I may well be handing over the reins to him for the T20s, as I dont understand them at all lol.

Thanks also to everybody who has had players feature in our squads, having this level of players avaialable helps massively.

Hi all,

Haven't had the time to check in and update you all on the squad for the upcoming T20 tour, but the squad is:

Bats

Ashok Yapa - White Hats
Ariyaratna Amerasinghe - Ella XI
Risad Anurasiri - Albino Lion Cubs
Sanjeev Ferdinands - Rittenhouse
Sanjeev Indrasiri - Ella XI
Asanta Udagamsuriya - Yellow Comet

WK

Nimal Lakmali - SBClub
Vijitha Vonhagt - Ella XI

AR

Priya Moberly - SBClub
Muthu Varuna - bluekipper8878

Bowlers

Arawinda de Valliere - LFS - Albino Lion Cubs
Piyankara Ingram - RF - SBClub
Sajith Kalum - LFS - Rittenhouse
Lalith Masmulla - LFS - The Bengals
Jeewan Nandana - RWS - Pembroke Plodders
Chandrasiri Pushpakumara - LM - Figgiuputuna
Ajith Ranasinghe - LFM - Rittenhouse
Tiran Shanmuganathan - RWS - Ella XI

Maybe a little heavy on the bowlers, but the ARs and WKs will pick up the slack there, so I think we can make it work. In terms of pitches we've got 4 x slow and 1 uneven (right in the middle), so I'm pretty happy about the choices we've made.

To make the World Cup I think we're going to need to win all our games, Chezz has sent me the odds of that happening but I'm not a gambler so I'll remain in blissful ignorance. It's T20 so anything can happen, but I can't help thinking we've given ourselves the best chance.

Thanks to all for training these guys, hope we can have a successful tour.

Just a quick update as it's a very busy closing for me.

Impressive win against Canada today, limiting them to 131, then getting to the total in 16.3 overs on Slow/Windy.

Big MR of 173k too.

And another win today!

Another Slow pitch in Windy conditions, Netherlands were restricted to 118, Moberly, Push and Masmulla all perforning well.

We chased down the total in 17.2 overs, Moberly outstanding with 31(20).

Tomorrow we have Ireland on Unven/Windy, kicking off at 2am FTP time.

Sorry to report our first loss today, unable to chase down Ireland's 150 on Uneven/Windy. That is our least favoured pitch out of the way, though, so I'm hoping for a better performance tomorrow against India on another Slow/Windy.

Still in 2nd place in the table, with Bangladesh up in the final match, a win tomorrow will put us in a good position to promote.

Apologies to anybody waiting for a run-down of the tour. I'm in Slovakia and my better half is Russian, so I've been trying to hold my life together here. Will try to update later today, but for the time being just want to say thanks to everybody for producing the players used. Unfortunately we lost our last three games and will not promote.

Will also be overhauling the squad today for the next OD tour, expect to be receiving some mails related to this.

he's not bad but I wouldn't imagine so. I have a keeper who is younger and better also not in the squad atm.

My odd SL pull came through! Only a Superior academy though so probably not a NAT prospect.
