Sri Lanka U20 National Discussions

So I know its unlikely, but you may just be thinking "I haven't heard from our u20s for a while I wonder how they're doing?"
Well the answer is "we're on a bit of a roll” - we've won 3 friendlies in a row, one each for the manager and my assistants summit and angolvagyek, aka Tim.

Today's different though. Today we play a "golden ticket match".
The deadline for our first tour squad selection is tomorrow and I'm still undecided on a few tour slots so today's line-up is made up of all the the marginals who have about a 50/50 shot of touring this season. Top performers get the first golden tickets.

Tune into https://www.fromthepavilion.org/comment ... Id=5331004 to check out if your player is involved and cheer us on. We'll probably lose the match by leaving out our best players, but hopefully find a couple of winners on a losing side, some diamonds in the tough?

Looks like we lost the toss and are bowling first!
6 bowlers bowling all with a chance-Coggins with a 5-for the clear winner here followed by medium pace all rounder Jagath and WS Livera .

Let’s see what happens with the bats.
Best bats were our allrounders Perera and Jagath who hit 51 not out to end as man of the match.

First match of first tour with a new team.
Mixed results in the friendlies, gaps in the bowling - reasons to be worried?

First ball: wicket
Second ball: wicket

I think we’re gonna be alright. :)

Narrowly lost game 2 unfortunately but all ready to go against new rival UAE.
There's been a bit of banter in our defeats so far to UAE so revenge is required.

We lost that one even MORE narrowly- last wicket stand. Next game is India and if we lose this one we’re in relegation trouble. Win and we’re very likely safe.

We won game 4 by a margin so now we are 2-2.
and we lost the last to finish in 3rd place in Div 1 on NRR.
Not bad at all and a lot of lessons learned.
7 wickets each for fast bowler Sepala and wristspinner Wijesiriwardene
50s for batsmen Vadival, Duwage, Meniga, Kodituwakku
7 catches for keeper Warakagoda
and big allrounder performances for wristspinner Beatrice (57 runs & 4-98) and Wijesiriwardene (43 runs & 7-117)

Onward to the T20!
Looking for high power batsmen and higher fielding across the board

Hi Paul,

Are you generally looking for the same skills that Lesvo had listed on the U20 page?
If not, would you be able to update the requirements at some point?
Known as MrMungo in a previous lifetime.
