Thanks mate:) Good luck to the U20 lads as well! the lads did love Australia the last time they went there... https://www.fromthepavilion.org/worldcup.htm?cupId=862

surprisingly the last time Sri Lanka hosted a seniors World Cup, Windies finished runners-up as well, so both sides have histories to replicate and better in our case.

O. Cornwall (rf) 10-0-69-1, T. Burrell 23 (27b), A. Cherry 93 (102b)
End of over 50 (9 runs) - Canada(256-6) RR 5.12

sunny/dry versus Canada. our bowling has been rather disappointing and so has the fielding with 2 drops and a missed stumping. Got McCatty and Linton to open for this humongous chase. Realistically, we're hoping to not be insanely screwed on net run rate here.

A very disappointing day but the bats ensured we are not bashed net run rate wise. Our weaker batting in comparison to almost all sides will remain a point of trouble for all the World Cup I reckon. Those solid openers had bashed our seamers enough that all spinners did was damage control. Furthermore, the solid wristie with Old Ball Bowler is a toughie to bat against. Adams smacking us up was definitely a memory of how Hislop did the same for us. 220, a decent showing by the bats but the early onslaught by the Canadian openers always had them 20 ahead in my eyes. 2 drops and a missed stumping, all of bats that had a good day out did not help. match 6283884

Got the kiwis on flat tomorrow: match 6283887

G. Howe (lfm) 10-0-54-2, G. Farquharson 13 (18b), C. Oscopy 5 (7b)
End of over 50 (6 runs) - West Indies(252-8) RR 5.04

250 up, but on windy/flat against scary kiwi bats, unlikely to be enough. match 6283887

great work by experienced bowler and the love of my life Colin Oscopy (not colonoscopy) as he made quick deal of quality kiwi bats. Don Carlo Gambino impressed with his first international three-fer and Hemnarine Daley showcased exemplary skill with bat and glove on his debut and fortunately was able to see his side get over the line, unlike Mohan's fine performance on bat yesterday. The last time we beat the Kiwis in an official game was during the previous edition of the World Cup, also on a flat deck after which they thrashed us on an uneven for the last four tours. Was it Bustergut's genius to suggest changing to batting first or was it quirkilyalive's to listen to him? I think the latter!

The Dutch lads tomorrow, another side I genuinely fear, on a green deck, a pitch I genuinely don't understand, so tune in: match 6283885

S. Van Katwijk (rfm) 4-1-6-1, H. Daley 1 (9b), W. Linton 13 (28b)
End of over 15 (3 runs) - West Indies(49-4). 119 runs required from 35 overs. RR 3.27 RRR 3.40

Oscopy and Farquharson impressed with the ball but the lower middle order has taken the dutch side to a par score and it appears our bats haven't been even close to a match thus far.

the bats recovered but unfortunately it was a lad in my club side that got rid of the last two bats before the tail heaped into a collapse. tough game.

Scenarios:
Our best is 3-2, and anything short of that is not good enough anyways. We need Netherlands and New Zealand to lose tomorrow for sure. And in game five between Netherlands and New Zealand, the Kiwis boast of a scary net run rate thanks to a couple of 100 run wins so ideally we'd like the Dutch to win that one but preferably by a little margin. Canada needs to finish first for us as they need to beat the Kiwis tomorrow. Zimbabwe and Ireland are our next two fixtures, the Irish and ourselves are playing to stay alive tomorrow whilst the Zimbabwean side have unfortunately bade the World Cup farewell with three consecutive losses already.

match 6283882- cloudy/dry- pray to the poster of Sir Curtly Ambrose I have asked every Windies supporter to have on their wall!

Impressive days for Michael Seaforth, Kieron Mendonca and Eldine Jones help them in this victory over the finalists of the previous edition. Zimbabwe won a nailbiter over the Dutch side for their first win whilst the Canadian were handed their first loss by the Kiwis.

Scenarios for the Windies lads to get to the semis:
- West Indies need to beat Zimbabwe tomorrow- sunny/crumbler- match 6283886

- If Canada lose to Ireland tomorrow, and Kiwis beat Dutch, West Indies and Canada will end on a net run rate battle for the second spot with Kiwis taking the top spot. Canada have the better net run rate at the moment and it appears they'll need to lose by a considerable margin and the Windies have to win by a heavy margin to trump them.
- If Canada lose to Ireland tomorrow, and the Dutch beat the Kiwis, then we can a 4-way tie at 3-2. Kiwis boast of a healthy net run rate and are likely to qualify with the other spot coming between Canada, West Indies and Netherlands.
- If Canada win against Ireland, then the Dutch need to beat the Kiwis, by a massive margin at that, elsewise Kiwis and Canada go through, but if they do so and West Indies beat Zimbabwe by a massive margin as well, Canada and West Indies might go through.

The odds are against up to be honest but keep praying to those Sir Curtly Ambrose posters!

25 overs in:

B. Byrne (rfs) 5-0-34-1, T. Burrell 17 (24b), T. Munoz 42 (59b)
End of over 25 (10 runs) - Canada(105-5) RR 4.20

Ireland doing good vs Canada on sunny/hard.

F. Fett (rfs) 5-1-17-1, H. Rijntjes 14 (40b), P. Rooijakkers 12 (20b)
End of over 25 (6 runs) - Netherlands(88-5) RR 3.52

NZ impressing vs NET on sunny/dry

K. Glynn (rfs) 4-0-10-0, B. Stephenson 7 (16b), C. Mohan 22 (54b)
End of over 26 (1 run) - West Indies(83-4) RR 3.19

WI prodding along against Zim on sunny/crumbler.

'O! Sir Curtly Ambrose, take us through!'

better seamers can't do anything while Mzema takes 2 wickets with the new ball. quality wristies take 3 wickets for 60 in 20 overs while Jansen takes both BH's in consecutive balls and then picks a hattrick. can't defend 187 on a crumbler, a score that I thought was thirty above par but sunny weather was tricky there still. Ah, terrible week honestly, the more I think. Apologies lads. Good luck to Kiwis, Canada, Brits and Scots for the semis.

Thanks for allowing us to tour your lads, hopefully a better season the next one with 2 div 2 tours to start.

Yet another term of my tyranny! Hopefully I can better my previous seasons this time, always an absolute pleasure to be the NAT manager!

Changes in the Assistant Unit:
As always a massive thank you to Bustergut for continuing as an assistant, his help and guidance is much appreciated. MmmmToast and Kaushik have exited the unit this season. Very grateful for the contributions the two have added in the unit. World Cup Winning U20's Manager with the Windies- Maddog40 has joined the unit and I'm very excited about that. Got an empty spot at the moment. Ideally, I'd like to pick a manager with membership as they can be added to the association with that and it'd help us concentrate our discussions on the association forum instead of having a parallel discussion on discord or elsewhere. Please ping me here or ingame or on the discord if the role interests you.

Changes to the Squad:
The squad has dropped two lads during EOS as Keeper-Opener Leon Jumadeen has been retired alongside quick Cordel Khan. Jumadeen was a constant tourer for us for his prime years with his 140 against the Kiwis in the Season 50 EOS World Cup being a highlight. Cordel Khan unfortunately did not make it into the 18 player touring party on any occasion despite his captaincy bolstering his skills as a quick. He was a solid player as well who played in a few NAT friendlies across the seasons.

In lieu of the two retirees, Nizam al-Mulk of Space Wolves and Carl Gall of Jacksons Barbers have been added into the squad. The former is a wonderful bat whilst the latter is seemingly talented right arm finger-spinning all rounder. Good luck to the two lads:)

Upcoming tours:
Week 5, we'll be a part of the One Day Division 2 Tour after a disappointing demotion in the Division 1 Tour last season. Proteas, Kenyans, Scots, Zimbabweans and the Irish lads would be up against us.

Week 8, we'll be a part of the Twenty-20 Division 2 Tour after being able to snag a promotion in the previous Division 3 Tour we hosted. We'll be facing the likes of Kiwis, Lankans, Proteas, Kenyans and the Americans therein.

Upcoming friendlies:
A disappointing loss to the Americans last night on a green deck. The next friendly is scheduled for the 26th against Kenyans but there'd soon be a few more added to the list. Follow them from the West Indies Senior National Team's page. https://www.fromthepavilion.org/natclub.htm?teamId=3007

Ground and Ends name:
As I've been doing for the past two seasons, I have continued the tradition of honoring the West Indies One Day 1.1 champions of Season 52 as the West Indian home ground has been renamed to Space Wolves Arena after being named the Queens Park Cricket Arena for the past couple seasons. The Ends honor the sides the West Indian sides to make it farthest in the cup and the two ends are named Sultans of Spooge End and BTP's Chilbolton End!

Thank you:)

West Indies NAT Season 53 One Day Tour 1 Division 2: Squad Announcement
West Indies shall be heading to South Africa in a couple weeks as the Kenyans will be hosting the 50-over Tour on dry, crumbling and slow decks and here are the 18 lads that have been selected:

Ahmed Sencer Space Wolves Right-arm Medium/ Right-hand Bat

Alp Arslan Space Wolves Right-hand Bat

Brenton Stephenson Space Wolves Right-hand Bat

Carl Gall Jacksons Barbers Right-arm Finger Spin/ Left-hand Bat [DEBUT]

Cecil Griffith Caribbean Pirates Right-hand Bat

Chesney Persaud Never liked the name of my team Left-hand Bat

Colin Mohan Groundboys Right-hand Bat

Colin Oscopy Middle Stump Lubricators Right-arm Fast

Don Carlo Gambino Murder Inc. Right-arm Wrist Spin

Dwayne Maynard De Houthakkers Left-arm Finger Spin

Eldine Jones Boundary Boys Left-arm Finger Spin/ Left-hand Bat

Hemnarine Daley Rostrevor XI Left-hand Keeper Bat

Kieron Mendonca Stafford rangers reborn Right-arm Wrist Spin

Michael Seaforth Crni Zmajevi Cricket Club Left-hand Keeper Bat

Ordelmo Watt Antiguan Golden Cats Right-arm Fast Medium/ Left-hand Bat

Ryan Shallow Crni Zmajevi Cricket Club Left-hand Bat

Stephen Patrick Ashburn CC Left-arm Fast Medium

William Linton Ceylonian Blasters Right-hand Bat

We have been pitted alongside the hosts in Kenya, South Africa, Scotland, Ireland and Zimbabwe and this being the first tour of the new World Cup cycle will be a crucial one to set the right tone. We survived by the previous term on the back of 4 Division One Tours, but a demotion here can set us back a fair bit.

The five fixtures for the tour will be:

December 12- Zimbabwe- Slow Pitch match 6383256
December 13- Scotland- Slow Pitch match 6383252
December 14- Ireland- Dry Pitch match 6383257
December 15- South Africa- Slow Pitch match 6383255
December 16- Kenya- Slow Pitch match 6383245

4 slow pitches is definitely unfortunate, but fortunately we did do a swap at the end to pick a medium pacer in Ahmed Sencer and another all rounder in Carl Gall upon Bustergut's advice and all hail him;)

A debut for Jacksons Barbers' Carl Gall shall be handed out while Hemnarine Daley and Colin Mohan's impressive World Cup campaigns sees them continue in the side. 5 spinners and 4 seamers is the breakdown with weather being a tricky factor going into the tour on these slow decks.

In assistant news, we are very glad to welcome verdi into the unit as well! A solid manager who has lent us 9-10 players for a tour in the past. Definitely happy to have the manager that trained West Indian legends Melford Griffith and Jason Hislop in the setup alongside us!

Thanks for allowing us to tour your lads and cheers:)
