The reviews have been great along with the Moose fact of the week.

I am partly inclined to incorporate a Moose as the PSL mascot, but it looks like there are no moose found in Pakistan.

Closest thing I could find is the Markhor.

FF have won this fixture 4-2 (no YOD 3 fixture scheduled).

Multan Sultans vs Quetta Gladiators
Multan Sultans win 4-3.

In YOD 3, Misfits have set Sherlocked 12 a target of 183 on an Even Pitch in Overcast conditions. A wicket in the second over not a good start for Sherlock's chase.

Misfits got as close to the ratings ceiling as I've ever seen (just 11 shy) and unfortunately still lost. That's rough.

We are doing 1st vs 3rd and 2nd vs 4th as both 1st and 2nd are getting a 1-0 lead as an advantage of finishing in the top 2, and since both are getting an equal advantage so no need to make it 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd.

We tried this before and while it favored the teams with picking their own pitch, it also meant that the onus was on them to send the challenges and there were a couple of teams that did not do so, so we asked the challengers to just send challenges for random/random.

Multan, Faisalabad, and Karachi have secured semi-final spots.

Race for last spot is still on between the bottom 3 franchises with Rawalpindi the best place as they just need a win to secure their place.
Quetta needs to win with a better margin than Rawalpindi, or win and hope that Rawalpindi lose to secure their spot.
Dera Ghazi Khan needs at least a 5-2 win and hope that both Rawalpindi and Quetta lose or draw.

A draw is enough for Multan to secure top spot, Karachi need a win and hope that Faisalabad loses to secure a top 2 spot.

PSL 12 Round 3: Ratings in Review

Hello everyone! I have returned with yet another ratings review. They say that match referees are the scholars of today. I don't... but they do and I try not to argue. Anyway, unfortunately the round 3 review is late due to a lack of time. So we've got quickfire round 3 and round 4 reviews back to back. I'll be posting round 4 soon after. In round 3, it was another good week with just a couple of blemishes. Clearly some consistent big brain action going on in the franchise think tanks. Who would have thought?

Dera Ghazi Khan Stars v Multan Sultans:

In the PSL so far, although there haven't been too many instances of overrating- whenever there have been any, it's usually involved the Dera Ghazi Khan Stars franchise. That unfortunate trend continued for yet another round. However, it did not have an effect on the round result.

Diamond: Hereford Hawks (RevRob) vs Indian Capers (drag0on)
Hereford Hawks once again went over the line after their round 2 breach. A tough pill to swallow perhaps but not tougher than the fact that it wouldn't have mattered since the Capers pulled off a brilliant victory.

Quetta Gladiators v Rawalpindi Rapids:

The Rapids have had their own issues with overrating. What's more, when they do overrate, it ends up either costing or almost costing them the round.

YOD 3: Sherlocked12 (SherlockHolmes) vs Karachi Koalas (GMK97)
They say koalas can sleep up to 20 hours a day. Clearly the ratings guy was snoozin'. It could have been a costly mistake had Rawalpindi not rallied in their remaining matches and clung on.

That does it for round 3. No chaotic breakdown when it comes to ratings management. Not yet at least. We're one step closer to the finals and as the stakes get higher, so does the importance of ratings discipline. Let's see how the franchises manage.

PSL 12 Round 4: Ratings in Review

Greeting to the PSL community! I'm back with another wrap up of how the franchises performed when it comes to ratings management. I had to step aside momentarily since I was offered the Nobel prize for match referee excellence. Unfortunately, had to decline since I'm not in it for the accolades. And yes, of course it really happened. Anyway, what's more important than the Nobel award? A PSL week where no team overrates obviously! I can't remember the last time I saw this but it has finally happened. The franchises upped their game when it comes to ratings discipline in round 4. No overrating to report. Good job to all the teams.

Well there we have it. Proof that once these franchises have suffered enough unnecessary losses due to ratings breaches, they'll rectify the situation. Yes, even the Dera Ghazi Khan Stars group. It will be interesting to monitor whether this 100% record can be maintained. The stakes are getting higher and pressure leads to mistakes.
