Match 1: Pakistan v Kenya
https://www.fromthepavilion.org/scoreca ... Id=6489609

Date: 8th May 2023, 09:00
Weather: Humid
Pitch: Uneven

Kenya won the toss and put Pakistan in to bat in the first match of the tour.

The opening pair walked out to unpredictable bowling conditions and a difficult task at hand. At the 10 over mark, Pakistan's score stood at 36/2 and the decision to bowl first was validated. However, opener Islam Hamid had gotten a steady start and was still out there. His innings became key, driving the score forward even as other batsmen fell around him. In the 26th over, Pakistan lost their fourth wicket with the score at 83. The captain, Mohammad Yousuf, joined Islam Hamid with Pakistan in a precarious position. No stranger to late phase recoveries, he provided Hamid support in a crucial 116 run partnership off 123 deliveries, that also saw Hamid raise a very well crafted century. Yousuf was finally trapped in front in the 46th over. By now, Pakistan's score stood at 199/5. They finished at 222/7 in their 50 overs. Islam Hamid remained not out at 115 off 143 deliveries.

In response, Kenya also found run scoring difficult and began cautiously. At the 11 over mark, the score stood at 34/2. The Pakistani bowlers saw an opportunity and never toned down the pressure. 10 overs later, four more wickets had fallen with the score at 65/6 in 20 overs. Keeper Dalmar Kamabi and pacer Andrew wa Kamamia provided some respite, combining in a lower order partnership of 39 runs off 53 balls. It took Kenya's score to 120/7. However, Kamabi's run out in the 31st over officially sealed things. Pakistan wrapped things up soon after with Kenya finishing at 142 all out in 37.4 overs. The entire Pakistani bowling attack had chipped in with wickets in a clinical performance.

Pakistan won by 80 runs.

Match 3: India v Pakistan
https://www.fromthepavilion.org/scoreca ... Id=6489602

Date: 10th May 2023, 09:00
Weather: Sunny
Pitch: Uneven

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first in their much awaited contest against India.

Amid good upfront bowling from the Indian pacers, the openers began cautiously. The star of the first match, Islam Hamid drove the score forward, even as Pakistan lost an early wicket. At the 10 over mark, Pakistan were 36/1. While Hamid would not repeat his heroics, keeper Qazi Mulla, batting at no. 3 kept the score ticking even as two further wickets fell. At the end of 21 overs, the score stood at a precarious 85/3. However, that's when experienced middle order bat Jamal Abdullah combined with Mulla to put together Pakistan's best partnership of 60 runs off 77 deliveries. It propelled Pakistan to 145/3 in 32 overs. The situation seemed ripe for a strong finish. However, the finish never quite came, as India kept things tight. The final 10 overs brought just 50 runs, with Pakistan finishing at 215/8 in 50 overs.

Despite Pakistan's slow down at the death, it would still be a tricky chase in these conditions and against an in form bowling attack. A wicket by spearhead quick Sarwar Saeed, in the 3rd over, threatened to rattle India early. However, opener Barry Sanders and no. 3 Santosh Gujral calmed the initial jitters, combining together in a defiant 79 run partnership off 122 deliveries. It moved India's score to 90/1 in 22 overs. However, Saeed returned to have Sanders caught in the 23rd. Medium pacer Tony Stark had Gujral out leg before in the 27th- double strikes that brought Pakistan roaring back into the contest. Three more wickets soon followed, including a double wicket over by Saeed. India were now teetering at 123/6 in 29 overs. Despite some lower order resistance, the writing was on the wall as Pakistan's bowling attack kept plugging away to get the final 4 wickets. The Indian chase ended at 175 all out in 44 overs, 40 runs short of the target.

Pakistan won by 40 runs.
Man of the match: Sarwar Saeed- 5/19

Congratulations to all Pakistan supporters on an excellent win against a tough Indian side! That's 3 in 3 for the OD tour so far. Let's hope for the good performances to continue for the next two contests.

Hello to the community.

Well that was quite an OD tour. Truly a journey of highs and lows. However, the final outcome is an exciting one for Pakistan fans.

The senior team's clinical victories in the first three matches overcame the disappointing losses in the last two (including a highly dramatic batting collapse against Zimbabwe). Ultimately it meant that Pakistan finished on the top of the table and has promoted to division 2!

Congratulations to all Pakistan supporters! A nice way to end official engagements for the season. The senior team will have a couple of friendly matches lined up so keep an eye out for those.

Unfortunately had a few things going and I couldn't continue the post match reviews so I'll briefly do the remaining three games

Pakistan vs New Zealand - Cloudy/Dry Conditions
From 100-7 at one stage, New Zealand recovered pretty well to give a decent target of 182 on a difficult wicket. On the other hand Pakistan's innings went the other way around with a solid start with only 2 down on 100 but a collapse resulted in us ending 29 runs short
Result: New Zealand won by 29 runs
Man of the Match: Tim Southee (24/4 and 6* off 4)
Best player from Pakistan: Rauf Raja (24/3 and 6* off 9)

Pakistan vs Ireland - Overcast/Crumbling Conditions
Pakistan scores 162-9 from 50 overs as Feroz Mehdi and Azizullah Hussain provides a valuable 46 and 32 runs contribution respectively down the order. In response Ireland starts solid but gets a bit shaky at the end as they get closer towards the target. Nauman Fayyaz gives his best to turn the game around however G.McCarthy had other plans who makes sure Ireland chases it with 8 wicket down.
Result: Ireland won by 2 wickets.
Best player from Pakistan: Feroz Mehdi (29/1 and 46* off 72)

Pakistan vs Bangladesh - Windy/Crumbling Conditions
From 50-2 , Pakistan manages to only reach 108 only able to survive 32.3 overs which in response Bangladesh chases easily in 30th over with only 3 down thanks to Parker's solid half century.
Result: Bangladesh won by 7 wickets.
Man of the Match: Ishant Patankar (22/5)
Best player from Pakistan: Nauman Fayyaz (14/1 and 16* off 12)

We end this tour with very close games at the start of tour which could have gone either way and a disappointing last match. Looking forward to improve and perform better in the T20 tour that will be coming up shortly :).

Match 1: Pakistan vs Zimbabwe

https://www.fromthepavilion.org/scoreca ... Id=6591129

Date: 31st July 2023
Weather: Cloudy
Pitch: Uneven

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. After a few wickets fell early in the first innings, it looked difficult for Pakistan to post a good total since the conditions favored Zimbabwe’s fast bowlers, and Pakistan had lost their inform openers and seam specialist. However, the two new debutants, Azam Jafri and Pasha Manan (who was also the captain in his first game) had other ideas and struck an 85 run partnership. From there, the rest of the team added 43 more runs in 5.4 overs to help Pak get to 143. Zimbabwe were immediately put under pressure as 4 wickets fell in the Powerplay, and there was no sign of recovery. Fayyaz and Saeed were crucial in the middle and the rest of the bowlers, especially Tony Stark, ensured that Zimbabwe couldn’t score too many runs.

Senior T20 Debutants for Pakistan: Azam Jafari, Pasha Manan, Nauman Fayyaz, and Affan Parvez
Result: Pakistan won by 74 Runs.
Man of the Match: Tony Stark (4/16 and 8* off 7)
