Just because I’m not posting a match review after every match on here doesn’t mean that I don’t care about the National Team Alsy. Please keep your prejudice to yourself. My assistant’s and I are focusing on getting these team wins instead of writing match reviews. And, we’ve been extremely unlucky in the last 2 games which could have gone either way. Completely mind-boggling how there are some people here who jump to unnecessary conclusions after a few losses. There’s been a change of management, tactics, and fortune. I feel absolute pain over our last few losses but at least the team showed improvements after the game vs India.

You don't need to post match reviews, but perhaps answering the questions on the forum about the wicket keepers might be a good place to start.

Sure thing. Nasir Rahim is the best wicket-keeper in Pakistan, and that’s why I selected him to be a part of the final XI because of his skills. Yusuf Ahmed on the other hand is a spin-specialist batsman. His skill set was necessary due to the crumbling and spinner-friendly decks that have been used in this tournament. That’s why I thought of playing them both because both could make an impact by being on the same XI.

Hard luck in the matches, since you are here now Ahsan can you tell us why the management only took one wristspinner on tour considering Crumbling and Dry were in the 3 pitch choices and both support spinners?

Absolutely. The reason why we took 1 wrist spinner was because the wrist spinners who were previously in the team were around 26 years old, had a lack of experience, strength, and I personally felt uncomfortable taking that risk to bring them. Before the tour, I made a statement regarding the strength of spinners. The reason why I emphasized strength is because with strength, spinners have proper control and it will also help in other areas such as the speeds that they can bowl at and the areas where they can land. I still stand by this statement because I simply at a national level cannot understand how there were spinners who had such low strength. This is international cricket. When I was the assistant for Zimbabwe, the minimum strength level for spinners was outstanding. That’s why I did not bring more wrist-spinners. However, my assistant Fnadim01 had done a fantastic job and brought be a list of the best spinners in Pakistan. I will be adding some to the squad and once the next national tour starts, and if the pictures are suitable, then you guys will In Sha Allah see better results.

Typically managers do not focus on strength for spinners as mostly they do well without having much power, and while it is good that you want managers to train power on spinners, I think they are better served training their primaries and fielding before power, and that they can focus on power once they get into their late 20s.

I've had success at both club and national level by picking spinners that did not have much power, and even 2 WCs with Canada where our spinners did not have much power.

Congratulations to everyone for Pakistan’s victory. In our next tour, we will look to use this momentum and get closer to the top of the table.

Here is the potential selected squad for the T20s in the West Indies.

Some notable change is that after a long time in their respective careers, the management found Imtiaz Asad, a great batsman, and a great captain. Possibly will be seen making his debut on this tour.

The 2nd and most significant change is that Sahar Naqvi has been added as the new wrist spinner in the Pakistan team. While looking through the Pakistani spinners, it was shocking to see a player of this caliber to be sitting outside of the national team. With his skill set, we can win a lot more matches in sha Allah inside the West Indies.

You could have posted this in the Association forum so that only managers part of Pakistan community can look at the squad, but up to you and all the best with the tour.

His fielding is most likely the reason for him to be sitting outside the squad, accomplished fielding is way too low to be considered for any NAT side.

I also hope that the management team is not ignoring any spinners we have with world class primaries just because of power levels.
