Hello all.

This thread is created for the sole purpose of discussing our performances/squad selction etc. in international matches. The discussions can be anything : Pre-match, Live match or post-match discussions. We will also try to do some polls in between, to try to know your views.

Also, depending on my free time, I will try and write the preview/review of certain matches. Also, if any kind soul would like to volunteer it, he would be most welcome.

Any suggestion would also be most welcome.

Our second tour of this season has started. Welcome to NAT Twenty20 1 (https://www.fromthepavilion.org/leagueo ... 10124#curr)
We are host for current tour and the pitches in this tour were Flat, Hard and slow for this tour. We got Flat, Hard, Flat, Hard and Flat.

Our first match for this tour was in today morning, on Flat/Sunny, Vs UAE. (https://www.fromthepavilion.org/comment ... Id=6383332)
We won the toss and decided to bat first on flat (though majority of people, i know, love to chase on Flat). Our bowling attack comprised of 2 Seamers (LFM and LM) and 3 spinners (RFS, LWS and RWS).

India got off to a flying start and raced to 51/2 in 4 overs. The specialist opener, Bengi WOO started with a first ball 6, but fell soon in the second over when he was trapped LBW by M. Khaleel at score of 10(5b). The other opener Samadhan Sukhani still kept on attacking and raced to 33runs of14b (5x4 1x6) when he mistimed a shot to backward point at the last ball of 4th over. The captain D. Mayekar joined hands with Matu and they both mixed caution and aggression to bring up a 50runs partnership for the third wicket but just when this partnership was getting threatening, Matu got out at score of well-paced 40runs, but Mayekar was set though and continued attacking. Wickets continued falling at other end when Srivastav and Raina fell cheaply. At 150-5 in 14 overs, India was in spot of bother as this was last pair of recognised batsmen and there were still 6 overs left. The only allrounder in the squad, Manmohan Soratheeya though provided ample support to the captain and they both batted sensibly and stitched together a very important partnership of 66 runs off 37 balls and batted out the complete 20 overs. Mayeker finished on 96 off 47 balls studded with 5 fours and 6 sixes and played a big part in India getting a massive total of 216/5.

Defending a massive total, Chapo picked an early wicket on third ball and could have had another wicket in the same over when Soratheeya dropped an easy chance of Capone. Capone made good use of that dropped chance and together with Mukhtar blasted 78 runs off just 41 deliveries. India though kept persisting with seamers for some strange reasons, inspite of them getting whacked to all parts of the ground. In the 8th over, spin was introduced, and it brought immediate success when Capone edged an excellent delivery and got caught by Raina this time after making 46 off 25 deliveries. At 82-1 in 7.3 overs, Mukhtar was joined by Iqbal, one of the three specialist finishers, and they both played some very good shots and formed another big partnership of 74 runs. India though kept on playing the waiting game, kept trying to increase the RRR by some defensive bowling and delayed the wrist spinners for the end game. 68 runs were required in last 5 overs with 8 wickets remaining and there were 5 overs of wristies. It was battle between India's quality wristies and UAE's bunch of finishers. With the RRR pressure on their side, the Indian wristies came out on top and delivered an easy win for India by 30 runs.

Mayekar was undisputed Man of the Match for his amazing innings.

This, I assumed we lost the toss when I saw Matu and Sukhani at the crease in the 1st over haha

He took his time in the beginning and then unleashed his wrath against the spinners! A great display of how to make good use of one's strengths and weaknesses. I will show the replay of this innings to our youth squad who missed out on the match due their YT20 league.

India ended off their innings in style, the same way they started! with a s i x!!

For the england match, we are playing one seamer less than ideally we would hv liked to play on Hard/cloudy because the forecast for next match is humid. So, we felt the need to preserve the seamer for that match.
So, Bekawala (Lfs) gets in the playing 11 , instead of Chapo (LFM). This is the only change which was forced due to weather forecast for the next match.
Lets hope for a good match vs England.

Today was one of the worst days for us. Lost badly by 83 runs.
Hopefully, we would better our performance in upcoming matches.

R. Harman & D. Germaine batted like it was the last day of their life! They ran amok scoring 91(42) from 12-18 overs. All our bowlers only needed was one of them to fall as they were the last specialized batting pair. In the end, the task was too much for our batsmen, and 44-3 didn't help. The double break trough in the end of the 6th over sealed the match for England as things went downhill from there.

England remains unbeaten and India tastes their 1st defeat.
We are up against Netherlands today on conditions looking similar to the 1st match.

Our batsmen underperformed, but Kukadiya shines with a 6-fer! Match could've gone either way with Netherlands being at 124-2 needing 54 runs from last 5 overs. Kukadiya's 2-4 in the 16th over and 3-5 in the 19th over sealed the deal for India as we move on to 4th position in the league standings.
A flop show from the batsmen was revived by a 48 run partnership for the 6th wicket off 25 deliveries b/w H.Iyengar and Soratheeya after the latter was dropped off Schep on 16.2.

S53 Nat T20 1 - Match #4 India vs Australia

After winning the toss and deciding to bat 1st on a flat/sunny. The Indian Batsmen Gujral 35(19), Sukhani 32(20) & Mayekar 46(24) failed to covert the starts they got and some excellent death bowling from the aussies saw that India couldnt get past 177.
The aussies rode on Fasolo's flamboyant knock 98(51)* and comfortably reached their total with 14 deliveries to spare.

Our final match up of this season's Intl T20 League is against the Canadians. Its a must win match for India to have the chance to stay in division 1. On the other hand, Canada will be looking to end a disappointing campaign on a good note.
