There's not really anything for me to play for now with the youths in both formats.
No, you need to win next week :thumbsup
I might pick a team for experience but it'll look exactly the same as the team I would pick if I was determined to win. Perhaps the only exception to that would be the 5th seamer and there's very little difference between who I'd have as my 5th seamer anyway.

For some reason, my batters seem to have decided not to bother turning up this week.

Yorkshire Puddings Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 13,406 14,312
Batting - Middle Order 12,432 12,594
Batting - Tail 6,212 5,837
Bowling - Seam 12,249 (50) 12,773 (40)
Bowling - Spin 0 (0) 14,562 (10)
Fielding/Keeping 14,008 17,031
Overall 225,260 241,889

Yorkshire Puddings won by 1 wicket

A cruel, cruel game. We batted terribly then when we bowled we got them to 93 for 8. They still needed about 41 to win but, sadly, we only got 1 more wicket.

On the plus side, the other 2 main challengers for the title also lost. Topmen have probably inserted themselves into the title race now too as they are only 4 points behind and we play them next week.

Beat second place today and we are now 24 points ahead of second spot, division 2 will be certainly tougher next season.

Slow pitch so I'm not sure if this is a decent score or if we're the slight favourite. Zondeki was miserly with 1 wicket for 11 runs from his 4. My 16-year-old RM Bennett put in a good performance too with 2-27.

Not without some batting scares but Schwartz's 50 from 38 balls saw us home.

Another last ball loss but we are now guaranteed promotion.

It doesn't seem like we're batting very well on this dry pitch. It's a crucial game so it looks like we're going to need a top class bowling performance to get a win from this game.

We scored a decent amout of runs in the last 3 overs to get to a defendable total and leaving Gavs Boys with 141 to win. Whitehead's 38 was a key knock for us.

We struggled to take wickets until the spinners came on but their batters never really got away from us. When the spinners did come on they kept the run rate down further whilst picking up some wickets. In the end, they couldn't cope with the run rate and we pick up 4 points.

Gavs Boys Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 13,370 14,361
Batting - Middle Order 10,321 11,665
Batting - Tail 4,752 4,178

Bowling - Spin 15,091 (12) 15,443 (12)
Fielding/Keeping 15,787 17,534
Overall 227,312 242,893

Ruff Royals won by 17 runs

Sadly for us, Zippys Rainbow Destroyers also picked up the win and they face the bottom placed team so it's difficult to see anything other than a title win for the Destroyers.

Despite the win we can no longer promote! Although second place is certainly achievable.

It appears resting players for the cup could have cost us big now, hopefully we can promote next season and considering we only have one player older than 28.12,we should still be OK for another season or two.

We did okay, I guess. I don't know if it'll be enough. Patterson's 4-45 was the best bowler for us today. Time to see what the batters can do.

I was going to say that it was a surprisingly comfortable win but I've now seen the ratings.

Ruff Royals Egham Town CC
Batting - Top Order 8,657 6,018
Batting - Middle Order 6,799 6,142
Batting - Tail 4,253 3,735

Fielding/Keeping 9,805 7,874
Overall 140,372 114,165

Ruff Royals won by 9 wickets

85 not out for Bullock and 80 not out for Dickerson saw us home with only the 1 wicket lost.

End of over 25 (maiden) - Topmen(93-5) RR 3.72

Another crucial game and one in which I'm not confident about as Topmen are always a tough team to play. It's a dry pitch and I think we're doing alright but we need to keep going and keep picking up those wickets.
