The Dross Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 6,310 6,794
Batting - Middle Order 6,774 5,810
Batting - Tail 4,799 3,986
Bowling - Seam 7,067 (14) 7,477 (10)
Bowling - Spin 7,616 (6) 6,804 (10)
Fielding/Keeping 7,951 9,552
Overall 126,750 126,742

Ruff Royals won by 8 wickets

Lost my best batter to the senior side so I've basically now got a team with 7 bowlers in it (albeit most of them are good at batting).

We restricted them to 110 on a crumbling pitch and then Schwartz (44 not out) and Banerjee (41 not out) saw us home.

S. Lucas (lfs) 4-0-34-0, R. Schneider 45 (36b), I. Dennehy 67 (48b)
End of over 20 (12 runs) - Ruff Royals(151-5) RR 7.55

It wasn't the best of starts but Dennehy and Schneider did very well to get us to a competitive total. We're going to need to bowl well though.

Overall 254,290 239,361

Ffoh won by 7 wickets

It seems it was a mistake playing my fast bowlers on a green pitch. Both went for more than 10 per over; I guess they really didn't like the windy conditions. I wish I had picked at least one more of my spinners considering the weather and how well the spinner I picked did (2-19 from 3 overs). It was always going to be a tough game with the ratings that Ffoh can put out.

I can't remember my reasoning for setting my home pitch to flat. It might be something to do with only having 4 proper batsmen albeit several bowlers who can bat. Choosing which of my 7 bowlers would bowl and how much they would bowl wasn't easy. I had thought that my medium pacers might be the most economical but that wasn't the case. With economy of 9.83 and 7.38, I might have to rethink things.

O. Delap (lfs) 4-0-31-0, M. Gony 24 (16b), K. Miller 123 (116b)
End of over 40 (12 runs) - The Middle Stump Lubricators(253-5) RR 6.33

It's still perfectly possible to chase this but I'm not convinced a flat pitch is the right tactic in the medium to long term.

Seems like it's just my medium pacers that do terribly on flat.

Slow pitch against Topmen and we decided to bowl first. At one stage, I thought we'd be facing 250+ but managed to eventually restrict them to 229 which is still going to be tough to chase but not impossible. It could have been better but for this from my keeper:

3.5 . Schneider to Anurasiri : [dropped] Clarke dives to his right and is unable to glove the chance cleanly. (Anurasiri was on 11 and went on to get 58)

41.2 . Massey to Bratton : [dropped] An edge, but Clarke's poor footwork means he's not in a position to hold the catch. Massey is livid.

49.2 . Hodges to Seccombe : [dropped] An edge, but Clarke's poor footwork means he's not in a position to hold the catch. Hodges is livid.

The last two weren't as costly but not sure what I can do to stop him dropping catches. To be fair, he has only got world class keeping and exceptional fielding (and world class endurance)!

My captain also dropped one fairly early on.

It wasn't going too bad at 70-1 and 94-2.

D. Chilvers (rws) 4-1-15-0, A. Clarke 1 (4b), S. Whitehead 0 (1b)
End of over 19 (1 run) - Ruff Royals(95-4). 135 runs required from 31 overs. RR 5.00 RRR 4.35

We're in real trouble now and I can't see us successfully chasing this total.
