Batting - Tail 3,951 4,108

83 for Banerjee and 95 not out for Laurence set us up with a great total of 220 on a sticky pitch. 3 early wickets for Zondeki meant Egham were always up against it and he finished with 4-13.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, with Inchigeela and Egham playing each other, I'm pretty sure there's no way of you overtaking both of them.

F. Yaseen (lfs) 10-0-96-0, T. Liberatore 151 (96b), A. Clarke 97 (57b)
End of over 50 (11 runs) - Ruff Royals(418-3) RR 8.36

A good score as expected. I was wondering if I had made the right decision sticking with a slow pitch but it seems to have gone alright for my net run rate. I don't think either Clarke or Liberatore will be playing in the next T20 game!

Ruff Royals won by 385 runs

Roberson took 7 wickets for 9 runs as we bowled them out inside 14 overs.

We might now be just outside of the relegation zone when the table updates. It's going to be a tense last week as I still might need to win the last game against a side battling for the title.

comfortable enough 6 wicket win today on uneven/humid, and more importantly for us Bedfordshire Jats lost their game, so we now have a four point lead and a pretty healthy NRR lead too going into the final game of the season. Hopefully we can get over the line and get back up to div 2 at the first attempt.

Ruff Royals won by 5 wickets

A good bowling effort where we only allowed them to get 94. Zondeki took 3-17.

We lost a few more wickets than I would have liked but Banerjee hit 32 and Bennett 25 not out to see us to the win with 4 overs remaining.

That means we pick up our first YT20 title! :dance :party :D

won by 7 wickets to secure second place. Unfortunately Snakey's won their game so we miss out on the title, but an excellent season nonetheless, and 170K in prize money will be very useful!

A very good bowling performance as we got them all out for just 61 on a dry pitch. Massey got 4 wickets for 7 runs. Clouston got 2 wicket for 4 runs.

We got the win with almost 7 overs to spare with 32 runs for Mills.

Still finished 6th though.

Home Sledgingshire
Away Ruff Royals
Ground Bunsen Beach
League One Day 1.1
Date 17 Feb 23 10:00
Crowd 21,030
Weather Humid
Pitch Slow

A crucial game where a win will pretty much ensure the team's safety although we might be ok if Knockout Heroes also lose. It looks like we're going to need Knockout Heroes to lose as our batting has been as bad as it has been for the rest of the season.

L. Kermode (rf) 8-1-36-5, M. Roberson 2 (8b), P. Massey 5 (3b)
End of over 40 (6 runs) - Ruff Royals(131-8) RR 3.27

Edit: Knockout Heroes were bowled out for 78 with Inchigeela currently 31-2 so it's looking like we might survive what has been an incredibly tough season.

End of over 44 (maiden) - Ruff Royals(138-10) RR 3.14

Not great but I guess it's something to work with. Sledgingshire are certainly strong favourites for the win.

C. Rush (lm) 2-0-14-2, B. Waygood 5 (12b), T. Geeves 10 (8b)
End of over 4 (11 runs) - Sledgingshire(24-3). 115 runs required from 46 overs. RR 6.00 RRR 2.50

Interesting start but that run rate is really high. We need that to decrease dramatically whilst still picking up more wickets.

S. Hodges (rfs) 3-1-7-0, L. Mosbey 17 (42b), T. Geeves 28 (38b)
End of over 16 (maiden) - Sledgingshire(65-4). 74 runs required from 34 overs. RR 4.06 RRR 2.18

We could do with getting both of these two out now. Luckily, Knockout Heroes have lost so it's very likely that we'll be in division 1 again next season.

Sledgingshire won by 5 wickets

Sledgingshire Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 13,773 13,901
Batting - Middle Order 13,056 13,110
Batting - Tail 5,861 4,855
Bowling - Seam 14,414 (20) 14,249 (30)
Bowling - Spin 14,388 (30) 15,428 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 17,771 17,881
Overall 250,209 249,864

Lost but we are still safe.

It's been a terrible season. After winning the title last season, I wouldn't say there was a massive decline in quality but we only won one of the first 7 games of the season. Then we won 3 in a row and 4 in the last 7. The batting has been terrible all season and it's likely that my best batter, Liberatore, will have to be retired soon as he's almost 32. I'll need to see massive improvements next season for the following batters: McCall, Mills, Whitehead, and probably Schmidt too.

I'm definitely expecting another relegation battle next season.
