Top on 24 points but three other clubs have the same points and one has 20, playing bottom so need to win today to keep the push for promotion.

Very happy with that total in these conditions.

Awful batting by us. We're scoring incredibly slowly whilst also losing wickets; not a great combination when you're trying to chase a decent score.

I can't imagine I've had a worse youth performance than this in my ftp career. Yes, we made a mistake bowling first but, even so, it's a really disappointing defeat. What's worse is that we could have been top if we had won or at least only been behind on NRR.

Ruff Royals won by 2 wickets

Topmen Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 13,670 14,020
Batting - Middle Order 11,734 13,049
Batting - Tail 6,007 4,567
Bowling - Seam 14,780 (40) 14,320 (30)
Bowling - Spin 13,434 (10) 14,643 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 15,319 17,944
Overall 238,152 248,056

We were looking fairly comfortable at 68-0 and then about 6 overs later we were 89-6. I thought we were going to lose when they reduced us to 121-8 and still needing 36 to win. Thankfully, Clarke did excellent with farming the strike so that Massey only faced 7 balls whilst Clarke finished 42 not out. Another mention goes to Whitehead who scored 41 which is the 2nd decent score in SOD in as many weeks; pretty much unheard of for him.

8 points clear of the relegation zone. I think another win might be enough.

Nice set of ratings for div2, this win takes us up to second place just behind on NRR!

I didn't get around to changing my team. It would only have been a tweak here or there (more pace bowling and less spin) but it could have made all the difference.

It's a hard pitch and I think we're going to struggle to chase this.

With a couple of key players away on international duty, I thought we'd struggle today. My bowlers did a bit worse than I would have hoped and the batters couldn't keep up with the run rate.

Friday we had some bad luck with a 7K bat getting 90 odd to win the game for opp, yesterday we made up for it with some good luck.

South London's Number One CC v Bathaloner >> Match Ratings
Match Ratings
South London's Number One CC Bathaloner
Batting - Top Order 13,046 14,064
Batting - Middle Order 11,663 10,191
Batting - Tail 5,529 7,756
Bowling - Seam 13,501 (12) 11,567 (16)
Bowling - Spin 12,528 (8) 14,334 (4)
Fielding/Keeping 16,279 15,417
Overall 229,824 227,150

lost the toss and put in to bat on flat/humid, but would've batted anyway. Van Den Bergh did superbly to make an unbeaten 114 (60) but as I said a huge slice of luck in this one with him being dropped twice early in his innings. Captain fantastic Dann ably supported with 61 (34) as we racked up 229/3 in our 20. In reply opps always struggled with the run rate and Olise in particular was fantastic taking 3 of the top 4 wickets with overall figures of 4 - 0 - 34 - 3. A comfortable 70 run win in the end, and that should guarantee us at least 3rd place being 8 points clear of 4th with the league's whipping boys Red Fox still to play.

Tough game next week against Trevor Francis Tracksuit (great club name) who have 11 wins from 11 so far. Probably need to win all three of our remaining games to have a chance of catching up with Bathaloner in 2nd place.
