Flat/cloudy and I'm definitely going to have to rethink my choice of a flat pitch. The perfect combination of scoring quite slowly and losing wickets!

Very happy with this total, will be disappointed if we can't defend this with our seam attack in these conditions.

84 not out for Obuya more than doubles his previous best high score. Banerjee also weighs in with 57. Zondeki took 3-38 and Delap 3-35. We won again but I'm still not sure whether to stick with a flat pitch.

I suppose it really depends on the team our opponents puts out, their ratings have been very up and down so far this season but their squad seems fit enough.

End of over 39 (6 runs) - Bathaloner(197-2) RR 5.05

Moses has been really expensive in the last couple of games. I think I might have to make some changes to the orders that used to work for him and possibly even consider dropping him.

With 11 overs to go, this is already going to be a challenging total and by the end of their innings I think we'll be certain to lose.

End of over 50 (8 runs) - Bathaloner(248-9) RR 4.96

200-2 to 248-9 is a pretty good comeback. Sadly, I still think that's going to be too difficult to chase successfully.

It was great work by Westerveld in a rare first team appearance. He's still a little way from a regular appearance but he's gone some distance towards changing my mind about that.

Bathaloner won by 64 runs

Ruff Royals Bathaloner
Batting - Top Order 13,745 14,057
Batting - Middle Order 12,256 12,290
Batting - Tail 4,670 8,889
Bowling - Seam 13,473 (20) 13,149 (40)
Bowling - Spin 13,056 (30) 14,651 (10)
Fielding/Keeping 16,653 16,165
Overall 234,092 247,802

With us missing 3 internationals I guess that's not too bad a rating.

Quite a big loss but there were some positives with Westerveld getting 6 wickets and McCall scoring a century at 3 so it looks like I've finally found where to position him now he's a bit older.

There were also some negatives with Moses being expensive with the ball again and Whitehead being out for next to nothing again.

The other bad news is that I think it's time to retire Liberatore. He's been one of our best bats so far this season but another skill decrease means he's a spectacular/spectacular bat with an exceptional summary. In some ways he's worthy of a place in the side but it's time to give a youngster more game time. Liberatore might make a last appearance for us in the MKMC.

big win today, winning by 140 on uneven/sunny. Won the toss and had a bat, Kouyate standing out with a run a ball unbeaten 83, ably supported by Zaha with 72, rescuing us from a potentially troubling 90/4. About time Kouyate put in a good innings, been getting a fed up with him lately, an average of 24.56 is pretty disappointing for a player of his ability. In reply a first ball drop looked a bit ominous, but we took wickets regularly, and the victory never looked in much doubt. Olise took care of the tail to finish with impressive figures of 8-2-17-4.

Ffoh next week and really depends what sort of team they put out. If they go full strength then we have next to no chance, if they rest players for the cup then you never know!
