Batting - Tail 2,475 3,353
Bowling - Seam 4,877 (32) 4,827 (24)

Fielding/Keeping 7,170 5,020
Overall 94,544 105,292

Crestfallen Sidekicks won by 7 wickets

Another win against the ratings for my youth team. Not sure what I'm doing right with them at the moment, but hoping that it continues. Opponent had a pretty 1-dimensional bowling attack (3xrms) and two spinners on an overcast-green, so that might explain the result.

ME continuing to play funny games,

Loddington CC Crestfallen Sidekicks
Batting - Top Order 12,297 13,443
Batting - Middle Order 9,239 11,722
Batting - Tail 5,997 5,073
Bowling - Seam 12,274 (40) 13,339 (30)
Bowling - Spin 12,528 (10) 14,095 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 14,430 16,456
Overall 209,053 233,458

Loddington CC won by 60 runs.

Never remotely in the match once they'd had a 100+ second wicket stand in the first innings.

Egham Town CC vs The Raging Speed Horns
League One Day 1.1

Match Ratings
Egham Town CC The Raging Speed Horns

Fielding/Keeping 17,974 15,271
Overall 250,060 200,242

The ratings disparity underlines the problem we'll have this season in compiling any points

Ordinarily we'd rate 210k, but MKMC fatigue is already taking a toll. I was planning on getting xp boosts from the cup for three or four weeks, but with a 12-man squad, that's gonna start to hit my bottom line - only just kept the sponsors happy this week by 242 more bums on seats than minimum requirement! I think I might take a dive in the MKMC this Sunday to keep the team functional.

I'm hopeful of scraping a few points together from fatigued teams, or teams who just plain see us as an option to field their 2nd XI. We can certainly beat stronger teams (we knocked over a 245k side in a friendly this Wednesday), but it'll be a big ask.

As to todays game - we didn't bat too badly, managing 199-10 off 46 overs. But our bowling is really weak, at sub-11k in both spin and seam. Consequently Egham Town just thumbed their noses at us as they knocked off the runs in short order for the loss of just two wickets. Lean times ahead

Three wins out of 3 to start the season! No-one made a big score batting first, but lots of contributions and all the batters scored quickly, which meant we set a challenging target. After a good opening stand, they fell away and we won reasonably comfortably .

We received a ten wicket hammering yesterday, our bowling just wasn't good enough to get past our opponents quality top order.

By the numbers win this week. My mob were a little fatigued after filling in for the seniors in the MKMC on Sunday, but the gap between the teams was too much. Bit of a low-ish scoring game - we made hard going getting to 201-2 in our innings - is green meant to do that? My lot weren't on defensive orders but you could've been forgiven for thinking they were. The top order were all in the runs, and the bowlers limited the oppo to 148-9 off their 40. 4 points in the bag, and that's us three for three this week - we'll lose tomorrow, but I'm hoping the supporters' mood might come out of freefall after that!

Playing wolfie next week - should be an easy win 8)

The Raging Speed Horns vs Topmen

Fielding/Keeping 15,145 16,779
Overall 200,627 239,492

The expected loss. I've switched to slow for no other reason than that my lot managed their one win against decent opposition on a slow track. Needs must when the Devil rides and all that. We managed to post something to bowl at in our fifty overs, plodding to 196-7. Far too little against quality opposition like Topmen, but enough to give the crowd hope. In fact when the oppo were 58-3, a glimmer was definitely visible. However, their No's 3 and 5 steered them home with a bucketful of overs to spare.

Shout out to Silas Morningstar (RFM) who managed figures of 3-51 and got himself 3rd spot on the MotM roster; not bad for a 23yo outstanding summary bowler. Other than Bozelli anchoring the innings with a painfully slow 54 off 111 balls, there wasn't too much else to get excited about.

Once again, we just managed to squeak maximum sponsorship!

Bounceback from last weeks disappointment. Made a decent total, but our seamers were largely ineffective on a Cloudy/Uneven. Fortunately the one spinner I picked knocked over their middle order and tail, ending with 6/42 and snatching the win for us.
