wolfberries Knight Watchmen
Batting - Top Order 7,698 6,317
Batting - Middle Order 5,530 5,549
Batting - Tail 3,265 3,492
Bowling - Seam 6,861 (8) 6,993 (8)
Bowling - Spin 6,535 (12) 5,326 (12)
Fielding/Keeping 10,142 7,296
Overall 126,461 109,796

Result: wolfberries won by 7 wickets

It may have been a seven wicket win, but it was off the last ball of our innings!

Conditions were hot and dry, we really shouldn't be struggling like this.

Not sure what the par score is for a Hot/Green, but surely this is enough...

Wambau carrying his bat - he's been over-performing especialy compared to the rest of my batsmen!

R. Junor (rws) 4-0-38-2, F. Bullock 108 (59b), N. Laurence 0 (0b)
End of over 20 (7 runs) - Ruff Royals(227-3) RR 11.35

A flat pitch so this still might not be enough. Bullock was magnificent for his 108 not out, Dickerson hit 52, and House was out off the last ball of the innings for 57 from 30 balls.

End of over 20 (5 runs) - YorkshireTykes(139-9). 75 runs required from 0 overs. RR 6.95 RRR 0.00

Suprisingly comfortable in the end. Van Schoonhoven, who I wasn't originally going to pick, was a drop away from getting a 5-for.

It never felt comfortable but we got there in the end. Ruff Royals won by 25 runs.

I'm always happy with a win and especially so when some of my players are away on international duty.

Oxhey Players vs The Raging Speed Horns
League Youth 2.1

Weather Sunny
Pitch Green

1st placed (us) vs 2nd (them). Unfortunately we're on a road trip today, so I'll miss the action. We won the toss and went into bat. The plan - as always - is to smash a monster total and hope our weedy bowling attack can defend it.

Good start -

End of over 11 (6 runs) - The Raging Speed Horns(66-0) RR 6.00

Snakey's Kent Stars Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 7,424 9,191
Batting - Middle Order 5,142 5,321
Batting - Tail 3,714 3,750
Bowling - Seam 6,405 (40) 6,718 (32)
Bowling - Spin 0 (0) 7,021 (8)
Fielding/Keeping 8,638 9,908
Overall 119,351 132,917

Ruff Royals won by 3 wickets.

Considering our ratings advantage, I'd have liked it to be more comfortable and it definitely looked like we were going to lose at certain times.

The bowlers got off to a bad start and we didn't pick up a wicket on uneven until they were on 125. Pithey did come back well though and ended with 3-24.

Conversely, we didn't get off to a great start with the bat and were soon 25-2. Howe's 44 and Galindo's 67 just about kept us in it. Then, right at the last minute, when wickets were falling all around him Foot hit the accelerator and smashed his way to 52 not out to see us win with 2 balls to spare. Unbelievably, a finisher actually did a great job and finished things for us!

We sneak out of the relegation zone. There will now be a drop in our ratings as we lose our wicketkeeper to the seniors plus 2 others will be away on international duty.

Well that didn't end well -

Oxhey Players won by 4 wickets

Couldn't defend 233 :P

Greentop with three spinners was always idiotic - I should have swapped out my average summary RFS for my average summary RM but I didn't 'cos I'm as dumb as a stump when it comes to timely setting of orders  . Nah - they deserved the win - getting the runs in the final over with their opening bat scoring an unbeaten 131 to see 'em home.

The numbers -

Match Ratings
Oxhey Players The Raging Speed Horns
Batting - Top Order 6,828 7,887
Batting - Middle Order 5,683 5,180
Batting - Tail 3,333 3,392

Bowling - Spin 7,459 (8) 6,327 (24)
Fielding/Keeping 6,657 8,018
Overall 112,983 114,800

Still top by 4 points and a big NRR advantage. Can't afford to lose games like that though...

The Raging Speed Horns vs wolfberries
League One Day 1.1

Weather Sunny
Pitch Sticky

Entertaining wolfie's crew at The Horn today. I've got 3 guys away on tour - opening bat, keeper and strike bowler - so the team will be a little underpowered. Then again, wolfberries have been fielding second XIs this season, so this could prove an interesting match up.

Once again, I'll miss the action due to road trip; we're doing Dundee ---> Chatham in two stages (too old/disorganised for a one day'er now :P ) - will try to keep an eye on proceedings whilst riding shotgun...

End of over 12 (6 runs) - Danger Hotspurs(91-1) RR 7.58

Danger Hotspurs decided to bat first on a dry pitch and have gone off like a rocket. It seems like we've been struggling to get out roughly 15k waged batters recently and today is no different. We did get Kiplagat out for 30 but Vadher is knocking us around the park.

End of over 19 (1 run) - Danger Hotspurs(112-4) RR 5.89

A very nice comeback. The run rate is still very high so we might have to aim to bowl them out. We don't want any big partnerships developing.

I said no big partnerships and this is now about as big as I'd like one of their partnerships to get. They still look set for a big score if we can't get those 6 wickets pretty quickly.

Not the worst start by our bowlers, but we really don't have the batting to defend this.

We've given ourselves a chance on a dry pitch. Patterson did well for us with 4-24. Who knows how well my batters are going to do though?
