Another tough game. Luckily we won the toss so are bowling first.

Could be an interesting chase. Scaife was dropped on 46. It would have been nice to have stopped him from getting those extra runs.

Well, it turns out it wasn't a particularly interesting chase in that we scored too slowly and lost lots of wickets once the run rate got high. Perhaps 136 was too much to chase but I suspect we just batted poorly.

This has not gone well. Arguably my 3 best batters plus Schwartz out already. The only think that could save us is having fairly decent batting down to number 9.

I guess, at a stretch, that would be an okay total for a T20 game.

We did not score anywhere near enough runs to give ourselves a chance. Having said that, it was a nice performance from Patterson with his best score of 43 and good bowling with 3-29.

In a game that I was expecting to be really tough, we're doing quite well considering this is a flat pitch.

I've got to be happy with that on a flat pitch. Now it's time for the batters to do a good job.

Ruff Royals won by 5 wickets

Gully Boys CC Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 14,067 14,191
Batting - Middle Order 10,645 13,033
Batting - Tail 5,827 4,617

Bowling - Spin 13,459 (20) 14,696 (30)
Fielding/Keeping 15,524 17,133
Overall 230,652 247,196

A great bowling performance and I have to mention all of the wicket takers as they are well worth the praise. Perry started us off well and got 2-31, Hodges took 3-22, Massey 3-26, and Moses 2-36. The batting wasn't quite so good apart from Liberatore who hit an excellent 95 not out from 86 balls.

Results elsewhere also went our way with Topmen overcoming Sledgingshire on a sticky pitch. That means we're 10 points clear with 4 games to go so 2 more wins will do it for us. It's not going to be easy so there's no room for complaceny.

Another victory for the ME: Uneven wicket, opponent is out-rated by 17k and only plays two seamers, but still wins easily. My highest scorer got 55 despite having only 'Ordinary' batting skill, while the rest of my 'exceptional' batsmen struggled to get above 20! :?

Surprisingly our seam bowlers took the majority of the wickets, helped us to stay in the fight for 4th spot prize money but we are still in danger of relegation.

Keeps us in touching distance of 4th spot and prize money, but we lose our best batsman next week and his replacement is light years away from his quality currently.
