New Senior Nats
With the temporary nature of code changes, will we transform Nats into the new league format, etc, there is an inherent concern that errors may occur. Also, if I have an emergency, having someone else aware of what is required or if something goes wrong. We have contingencies but nothing is foolproof.
So my suggestion is to have Seniors as one league of 18 teams, with three tours of 5, 6, and 6 games.
Yes, nine teams will get home games; they can be random or given to the highest-ranked teams as a reward.
The change would start as soon as we can make it work, as soon as S64 perhaps.
Thoughts?

Re: New Senior Nats
Are you suggesting a different format between youth and senior nats? Not a fan of that.

Re: New Senior Nats
Only until the new nations catch up, 5-7 seasons of keeping an eye on the code is not ideal
We may get it to work, but there are some complexities that can be avoided by making the change.

I'd go for that.
Getting rid of the 3 division barrier will even things a bit more everyone.

Why 5, 6 and 6 games?
How does the home teams work - ie who gets them?
Who chooses the pitches?
When do the pitches get set (pre or post squad selection)?
Supportive in general but I think we need more info.

Sorry, I assume people would know it is based on a similar structure to the new youths
It is 5, 6, and 6, because with 18 teams, it needs 17 games in total.
Five in the middle tour one season and six games tour 1 and 3 the following season, followed by the WC.
Nine teams will have nine home games, and the others will have 8. In any given tour, no one will have more than three home games.
Pitches will be selected prior to squad selection.

Re: New Senior Nats
There shouldn't be any problems or errors, though many continue to exist, seems very straightforward.
Reverse the home and away fixtures for OD and T20, and for each 2 season period.
There are fixtures where the last competitive match has been in 2023.

Re: New Senior Nats
I support something relatively simple & straight-forward. With 20 tourers in the squad, managing fatigue is becoming a minor factor. Soon as we can get to 6 games, the better.
Note, I think 19 tourers (rather than 20) would be better. Discuss.

I know Nepal and Afganistan are not yet ready for NT .... But what's the harm of involving them in the NT setup.... They will lose most of the games.... This will be learning phase for these 2 teams
...
Or maybe continue with 4 more season of the setup that is already there for NT....

Re: New Senior Nats
Sounds good to me, but is this not going to put extra strain on Crowie as it'll have to be manually set up to cover across two seasons?
Or will it mean that we go either one season of T20 (ending in T20 WC) then one season of OD (ending in OD WC), or one OD/two T20 in season 1 and two OD/one T20 in season 2 across a managers tenure to ensure both leagues are set taking into account that we only have three tours total per season?
I would not be a fan of having more than three tours as a club manager likely to have NATs in the next few seasons.

Re: New Senior Nats
is anyone else thinks the same ? In my opinion with 20 man squad and 5 games in tour it disturb game balance somewhat. With fatigue out of the equation minor nations have more disadvantage instead of giants nations. Minor nations even don't have 18 quality players and have lower skill requirements of NAT player while major teams have even great payers not making into touring parties.
I think with 20 player squad their should be 6 games or for 5 games tour squad limit should be 18, or settle between like 19 for each tour.

Re: New Senior Nats
At this point, why have tours at all?
Just give NAT/U20 NAT a day (or two) of the week to play. Have NAT team squads and have the separate NAT fatigue be like a compressed version of normal fatigue so as to not impact standard league games (like now), and so managers are forced to rotate players.

Re: New Senior Nats
How about remove tour concept or squad concept
1) Main squad - 15/18 - To play competitive matches
2) A squad - 15/18 (More to followup the next gen and to play friendlies but not eligible for Tours)
- Spread games across season than 3 concentrated weeks as there is tour pitches or so any more, it would be Home pitch basically for each team
- Make fatigue impact to reflect as a 17 game fatigue rather than tour dependant - utilise Sat & Sun - that would mean 9 weeks then utilise break and play WC
- Prize money contribution is dependant per game played rather than tour dependant as part of central contract

9 weeks of league
End of league Admin announce WC Host & random Pitches
Again 2 weeks of break to prepare for WC
WC with renewed format - 4 teams per group - 3 groups - 3 league games per team, Super 6 with top - 5 league days, then final - total 9 days spectacle spread across 14 days Fatigue should be defining factor of a Final but the best players should play (Can be refined but the idea is to spread it so we can have best of the best actually playing more than WC becoming a fatigue management tourney)
