Couple of Nat Ideas

Post by eagles123 » Fri Feb 23, 2024 10:34 pm

A couple of things I'd love to see:

1. Having a Nat "B" Squad - wouldn't play competitive fixtures, but would be useful to have a place to keep an eye on those close to selection. And would nice for managers to know that their players are under consideration for nat selection

2. Inter-squad Nat/Club friendlies - again, would be nice to try out a few players against each other, see how they do. Thought of this as a Nat idea, but i guess could be used for clubs too ...

I certainly like the idea of a "B" Squad, I've nearly mentioned it a couple of times before.

I was going to suggest an option to mark certain players so that they can't be fired etc. Each season there are some real gun players going through the U20's, so it would be good to be able to keep an eye on them as they progress. So that there is somewhere in game you can go to check them out. Maybe up to 30 players to mirror the full squad numbers.

Definitely a fan of the "B" team, would be great to be able to easily track future players and how they are going.

1. Are you talking about youth, seniors or both? I think there was a good discussion similar to this a few seasons back about having an U25 friendly or competitive squad. I guess another option would be to increase nat squad size from 30 to 50.

2. I think that'd be handy with nat sides.

I assume it would be senior only, youths could be an option as well but really it would help more with the seniors as there is a longer time from the youths to senior selection.

I'd prefer two squads as such, making one squad of 50 would make it more awkward with selection etc, whereas is would be easier just to have a second squad for future prospects, they wouldn't even need a star or similar, it would be just a way of making tracking future players easier.

Even just a Nat shortlist would be nice.

I’ve ended up using my bookmarks as a way to save future Nat prospects but it would be nice to have a Nat shortlist that all managers/assistants could view edit.

Could even transition from youths to seniors if it’s possible.
Just here to contribute a few cracking commentary lines and spend hours on the transfer market.

we just mentioned this in Ireland and think a nat booklist should be added (don't know how difficult this would be)

as for the friendlies can you not just ask another manager to play a u-19/u-25
