Financial reward to club teams if nat teams win

Post by soundscomplex » Thu Jan 09, 2025 5:35 am

Is there some way we could add a financial reward to club teams for nat team performance? I feel that this might help ignite little more care for NATs.

I can see two models for this
  • Having clubs who have touring or squad players of a WC win receive extra compensation
  • Having a world cup win or similar benefit every club in the nation with a small cash reward.
I prefer the second model as I feel that it not only benefits the top teams less and lower placed teams more, but encourages more engagement from newer teams with NATs. I would be pulling Bangla a lot more if I felt that Bangla winning a WC might net my club say $30,000 in the off season.

I like this as you can keep the same compensation in the game, but distribute based on results. It will create some extra interest in NATs, but I see these problems with each model you suggested:

1. This might encourage managers to recruit from the stronger nations.

2. Not every NAT team has a league.

I like the idea, but as heppa says there is an obstacle or two.
Would a form boost to all existing players of the winning nation after the world cup be an alternative to reflect their pride.

Don't mind this, would be great to encourage more NAT engagement!

What happens to Kenya, Bermuda and eventually Afghanistan and Nepal?

With the first suggested model extra compensation goes to clubs with the players who were in the World Cup winning squad.
The 2nd suggested model would impact the likes of Kenya, Bermuda, Afghanistan and Nepal until they have their own leagues. Until then the reward could be allocated to the country who would of hosted their tour.
Or, as further suggested... rather than a financial reward (if it"s too difficult to implement) a partial form boost to all players from that country.
It might help promote a bit more interest

What about a modest sponsorship uplift each time your Nat wins a game? Comes top on tour? Wind a WC?
Liken it to extra media interest in the success :)

Or a supporter mood boost at the beginning of a season for the Nat who has won WC?

It would be great but once again can't happen while some national sides don't have clubs playing in their country (Bermuda etc). A cash distribution to clubs with players of a particular nation could be an option though. A set amount per player from the winning nation distributed to active clubs. Just a small amount but enough to gain interest.
