Version 142

Post by FTP-ashario » Tue May 08, 2012 9:19 am

Deployment date: Saturday May 12 (during the EOS updates)

New Team Allocation
- New teams will no longer receive 200K funds up front. Instead they will receive 50K per week for 4 weeks
- The way player skills are allocated for new squads has been modified. Squads should now be more balanced (although overall ratings will be similar) and most players in starting squads will have average batting, bowling or keeping skills (a couple should even have reasonable). It should be more obvious for new managers to categorise their batsmen, bowlers, keepers and allrounders in the initial squad
- For a trial period, teams are allocated immediately after the manager activates his registration (ie no 24 hour waiting period)

Mail Search
Managers can now search their mail by manager name or by keyword (eg searching for 'training' will return all mail messages containing that word)

Mail/Blog Enhancements
- The blog and mail when entering/editing text now work as a rich text editor, allowing managers to do things like bold and italicise text, insert links and images etc (this feature was already available, but only for managers who had decent knowledge of HTML tags).
- There is a preview feature for previewing blogs and mails before they are saved/sent

Youth Pull Nationality
When a youth is recruited, the nationality of the player will now always be the nationality selected

Nat Rankings
- There are now separate T20 and OD rankings for nat teams
- While I was implementing this change, I realised there was a bug in the way rankings are calculated. There are two main variables used in nat rankings
a. prestige - this is quite a variable item and is used to calculate how many prestige points are banked after each match. A few wins in a row and a team's prestige can increase markedly.
b. rating - this value moves a lot more slowly and is based on a team's overall results in the past 5 seaons
It turns out the prestige has been used on the nat rankings page instead of the rating. This has now been fixed.

Kenyan Names
Thanks to andruid for supplying a list of several hundred Kenyan first names and last names. These have been added to the game.

Several bugs also fixed. See the bugs forum for more details
