In a thrilling encounter between the Netherlands and India, the Netherlands emerged victorious by a narrow margin of 2 runs in a high-scoring match.
The Netherlands won the toss and elected to bat first, setting a challenging target of 189 runs for India to chase. Klaus de Border was the star performer for the Netherlands, scoring a brilliant 73 runs off just 49 balls at a strike rate of 148.98. His innings included 4 boundaries and 2 sixes, providing a solid foundation for his team. Other notable contributions came from A. Melkert (21), M. Van Gerwen (25), and J. Van der Zanden (19), helping the Netherlands reach a competitive total of 188 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

In response, India started their innings positively with S. Dhawan (24) and M. Rustagi (56) forming a solid opening partnership. Rustagi, who also captained the team, played a crucial knock, scoring a brisk 56 runs off 37 balls before being dismissed. D. Bhadoria (38) and R. Gujarati (51) also played vital innings to keep India in the hunt. However, the Indian middle order faltered under pressure, losing wickets at crucial junctures. Despite a valiant effort from the lower order, India fell just short of the target, finishing with 186 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs.

The bowling performances from both teams played a significant role in shaping the outcome of the match. For India, J. Taumalolo, A. Kumble, and R. Babariya picked up crucial wickets to keep the Dutch batsmen in check. On the other hand, C. Smith was the standout bowler for Dutch, claiming 3 wickets and creating pressure on the opposition.

Klaus de Border was being awarded the Man of the Match for his match-winning innings.
