going by his summary I'd keep clear of keeper. I'd be pure bat personally
Yeah, I had 2nd thoughts about mentioning keeper seconds after posting it.

I'd be more curious about his bowling than his keeping (I like fast bowlers), but would probably go pure batsman given it's late in the season.
I thought about bowler too but with a fair bit of fielding to do I didn't think he'd be good enough if I went that route. I think I'll fix the fielding and then if I feel bowling is going to pop quickly I'll consider bowler but I very much expect I'll decide against it and go pure batsman.

It's nice to get this double pop before the end of the season. Not sure if he's going to quite be of good enough quality for my senior side although he should be close to it.

For a second Spark I read that as a 16yo and my brain exploded

As a stark reminder of just how terrible my pulls have been this season, this was this weeks pull:

16 years | 25,900 rating | $975 wage (5% discount)

Right hand batsman | Left arm Finger spin
Talents Safe Hands, Skilled (Bowling)
Nationality USA USA
Form reasonable
Fatigue rested
Experience poor
Captaincy capable
Skills Summary
Batsman ordinary
Bowler ordinary
Keeper average
Allrounder ordinary
Skills
Batting ordinary Endurance poor
Bowling ordinary Technique average
Keeping average Power poor
Fielding average

Not a bad pull by any means, I'll go Keeper for my youth side I think. However, even pulled now he is a my highest rated player of the season, and second highest wage.. bad times!

Bear in mind that I can't see other players of his age group, but I'd say he might be about a season behind where he needs to be for the national squad. Before the changes from the youths being U19s, I think you would have needed to have him about reliable bowling/reliable tech at the beginning of 19 (and probably accomplished in one of those) and also his fielding at reasonable and preferably capable. So his fielding is going to take about a season to get to that. Don't underestimate the importance of good fielding! Experience is also probably a little bit behind but might be ok if it's close to ordinary.

Agree with Spark, great bowling type and decent primary/tech, but that fielding will be costly.

I hope that these pulls transition into next season, and I don't just have rubbish for 10+ weeks..

16 years | 23,028 rating | $926 wage (5% discount)

Left hand batsman | Right arm Fast
Talents Opener
Nationality USA USA
Form reasonable
Fatigue rested
Experience dreadful
Captaincy ordinary
Skills Summary
Batsman ordinary
Bowler ordinary
Keeper dreadful
Allrounder ordinary
Skills
Batting average Endurance ordinary
Bowling ordinary Technique average
Keeping dreadful Power poor
Fielding poor

I think considering the point in the season, I need to just forget the bowling type and make him into a batsman (obviously only for youths), but I'm interested to hear the thoughts of others on this one.

Towards the end of the season I tend to hope that I don't get anyone good so that I can save all my good recruits for early next season. Usually turns out that even if I get rubbish recruits at the end of the season that I still get rubbish at the beginning of the next season too.

If I was any good at working out how close your player is to a bowling pop then I might give different advice but as it stands I think you've got to go batsmen and make use of the talent. I guess you've got time to decide as there's a fair amount of work on that fielding needed.
