16 years | 20,598 rating | $1,051 wage (5% discount)
Left hand batsman | Right arm Fast
Talents Gifted (Batting), Spin Specialist
Nationality England
Form reasonable
Fatigue rested
Experience atrocious
Captaincy capable
Batting poor
Endurance poor
Bowling ordinary
Technique reasonable
Keeping atrocious
Power ordinary
Fielding poor

Hi folks, any thoughts re training for this chap would be welcome.

Going to focus on Fielding to ave/reas. Question is then focus on the batting talents or his ord/reas rf bowling potential?

Just making sure I wasn't mis-reading something
Will be a solid youth player but not much more tbh

thanks chaps

references to a 'solid' and 'below average' player likely improve me greatly - how promising

With $78k-$16k prize money up for grabs next season, and a possible 3rd placed finish this season with nobody graduating to seniors, I'm inclined to think he'll give me a good youth ROI

Will hold-off making a decision re bat/AR/bowl until his fielding has improved - buys me some more time!

thanks again

I’d push fielding straight to outstanding. Easiest and most efficient to get it out of the way when they are younger. Then either AR for abit or straight bowling and bowl tech for a couple season then re evaluate

The 20yo are good buys, acc/acc with reas field or rel/rel with higher fielding is spot on for a new team

The 16yo are good and nice longer term projects for you

As for trng, the higher the academy the better but as a newer team money is your friend so don't waste it
Spend what you can afford on academies in the short term, after that then most people aim for superior
Sometimes in the early days having one academy higher to make the most out of it, seniors is the popular choice as they can generate the most income. Age also effects trng with all skills trng slowing as they get older, except strength where trng speed inc as you get older. Endo is the same level until you hit 30.
Trng also slows down after you hit the outstanding level for all skills

As for what levels to aim for is open to conjecture as everyone has their own plan
In the early days outs or spec primaries is good for seniors (primaries are bat/bowl/keep/field)
Try to keep tech within 1 to 1.5 levels if you can, strength is important for all but spinners can have a little less
As you progress excep or better comes into play as many of the top teams run squads full of these sort of players

I think offstagefrog offered to help you, he knows his stuff pretty well so he will help guide you too

Good luck my friend, and I hope you enjoy the game

yeah the younger seniors can still train fielding fast enough to warrant it but if you have any older ones then its best to find replacements rather than trying to recover them
