Yeah it happens every now and then. Seems to only happen on really good pulls, in terms of skills I mean.

Nice pull, I have a rubbish squad ATM so will be wanting a few more of those!

i had a pull with Ordinary exp 3 Seasons ago 16 a y/o and now at the start of his 19th year he is Rating over 40k

my pull this morning was main , secondary and Endurance all reasonable ( 3x reasonable and rest poor for a 28k rated 16 yo ) wirh poor exp.

so i guess ist random but tends more toward the higher end spectrum the higher the skill is.

but one thing is sure...captaincy seems to be lower these days than in the past.

Just got a decent youth pull to kick off the season. Not sure how I should go about training him. Any advice?

Fielding will certainly need some attention, but considering that he is a Prodigy and we are at the start of the season you can look at going allrounder.

It will otherwise depend on what you really need. You can also go with allrounder at first just to see what pops to then go with that.

4k spare leave you with plenty of options.

I agree , basically if you plan to keep him he can be pretty much what you need him to be? I would favour him as a keeper though.

General question to which I should know the answer (but don’t). Do WKs need fielding?

I have a more general question as a relative newbie.

Lets say I recruit two players, one has a rating of 21000 and the other 17000. Neither of them are prodigies or gifted. Both have fielding at ordinary.

Is there any way, assuming both stay at my club, that the lower ranked player can become a better, more highly rated player, than the higher rated player? If I train both on fielding until they reach the appropriate level, they will advance at the same pace so the difference between them would stay relatively constant, or am I missing something?

Thanks

If the higher rated player has a low primary and high fielding while the lower rated player has a high primary and low fielding, then yes, sure.

Some levels for non-relevant filler skills will also be a factor.

Wage will probably be a better indicator of where they are.
