02 Sep 08 00:00 - It's mail Jim, but not as we know it
Today version 77 was installed on the game server. This version primarily contains a load of bug fixes and a few minor enhancements, but one part of the game that has received a major facelift is the in-game mail system. Enhancements include: - Mail 'threads' are now separated into separate posts, so you can more easily follow the history of a mail conversation. No more messages with a gazillion >>>>>> symbols! - Managers can delete mail from the various mail folders, without having to click on individual messages and click the delete button. Surprisingly, many managers found this quite tedious :) - The mail folders now have checkboxes allowing you to delete multiple messages at once. - Mail folders now support pagination, so you can navigate to old messages. - Organised friendly competition creators can send a message to all competition entrants at once. - Nat managers can send a message to all club managers having players in the nat squad.
26 Aug 08 00:00 - Disappearing Experience Pops
EDIT: 26/8/2008: Managed to reverse the incorrect changes. All should be back to normal. While working on improving the performance of the weekly training and experience update, I have managed to accidentally update the database so that any experience pops that occurred this week will not be highlighted on the squad and player pages. The experience pops happened - you just won't see them this week :) Apologies for this. FTP-ashario
18 Aug 08 00:00 - Version 75: Bumper issue!
| Over the weekend we installed version 75, which is probably the largest game update we have ever installed. There are many, many
new features implemented in this version. A short summary of the highlights include: 1. Organised Friendly Competitions: Managers can now create and/or enter organised friendly league and cup competitions. You can browse, create and enter friendly competitions via the Office -> Friendly Competitions page. These competitions offer trophies, prizes and statistics to name a few benefits, so we encourage all managers to check it out. The rules page for friendly competitions can be found via Help -> Game Rules -> Friendly Matches. 2. Site Menu Restructure: We have made some minor changes to the site menus in order to make it a little easier and intuitive to navigate the site. 3. Subscribe to matches via email: Managers can now subscribe to matches and receive periodic commentary updates via email. If you are, for whatever reason, unable to follow a match live, you can now at least be kept up to date via email. Look for the 'Subscribe' link on the left of the page when viewing match details or orders. There are many other features and changes contained in this version. To read more see this post and this post in the forums. |
17 Aug 08 00:00 - Season 4: Youth squad changes
There have already been a couple of news items posted over the past couple of months regarding changes to the youth setup, but just in cased you missed them we'll repeat them again :) A summary of the changes that have been implemented follow: 1. Youth players are now eligible for selection in senior matches. 2. The concept of manually promoting youth players to the senior squad has been removed. When a player turns 20, he will automatically move to the senior squad. All players aged 19 or under are considered as youth players. 3. Any player aged 19 or under (after the player age updates that occurred yesterday) who was in your senior squad has been moved back to the youth squad. Full details of the changes can be found here in the forums.
16 Aug 08 02:00 - Season 4 starts on Monday
The end of season updates have completed (pending any *gasp* bugs that crop up and require fixing) and we are just about ready for season 4. Your home page won't display your season 4 leagues until the season officially begins on Monday. However, the impatient among us can can have a look at their season upcomfing fixtures via My Club -> Matches. Pavilion Cup matches will begin on Sunday the 24th. League matches will begin on Tuesday the 26th. Good luck everyone :)
16 Aug 08 00:00 - Players double ageing
During the end of season update, about 500 players aged two years instead of one (must have been a tough season!). The vast majority of incorrectly aged players were Nat players. Given that some of these players were incorrectly aged from 18 to 20, they were then removed from the U19 squads. The double-ageing has been corrected. To all U19 Nat managers - please check your squads. You may need to manually re-add some players to the squads. My apologies for causing this inconvenience. FTP-ashario
